[Bug 1575156] Re: Guest Session is destroyed despite not explicitly logging out

2016-04-27 Thread Adam Hayward
** Description changed:

- Ubuntu release: 14.04 LTS
+ Ubuntu release: 15.04 LTS

  Using: Asus laptop

Upon starting a Guest Session the user sees the following warning
  message:

  http://i.stack.imgur.com/YmG1M.png

"All data created during this session will be deleted when you log out,
and settings will be reset to defaults"

If the use closes the laptop lid, the user is logged out of their
session, hence destroying all their data.

This is a bug because by closing the laptop screen, it is not the user's
INTENTION to abandon the session. The guest session data should only be
erased if the user expressly switches or closes the session by clicking
"Log out" or suchlike in the interface.

I think a good enhancement would be to repeat the warning message if the
user attempts to close or switch session.

It is not immediately obvious which source package causes this issue, if
someone can indicate which one it is I would be grateful.

[Bug 1575156] [NEW] Guest Session is destroyed despite not explicitly logging out

2011-02-03 Thread Adam Hayward
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

I get this error when creating certain zip-files. Appears to affect
files starting with the '@' symbol.

7-Zip 9.04 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2009 Igor Pavlov 2009-05-30
p7zip Version 9.04 (locale=en_US.utf8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,2 CPUs)

Error:
Incorrect item in listfile.
Check charset encoding and -scs switch.

Steps to reproduce error:

1. Create a new file on your Ubuntu Desktop called '@HS45195.PDF'
2. Right-click on it and select Compress...
3. Choose the file name '@HS45195.ZIP' and click Create

This will result in the error message above. The same thing happens when
extracting the file '@HS45195.PDF' from a ZIP file.

Using: File Roller 2.30.1.1
OS Version: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
