[Bug 228721] Re: [Hardy] Searching youtube videos runs 100% cpu forever.

2009-05-13 Thread Adrianus
Hi,
I suspect that this has to do with the fact that if you launch totem from the
system menu, then it will not honour the proxy settings. When we open a
terminal first and launch totem from that then YouTube plugin works.
This is also happening with googleearth

[Bug 228721] Re: [Hardy] Searching youtube videos runs 100% cpu forever.

2009-05-13 Thread Adrianus
A work around that I did is to edit the launcher. I use
env http_proxy=http://proxyhost:port/ totem %U
in exec part of totem.desktop

[Bug 124726] Re: totem-xine config file reset automatically

2008-10-17 Thread Adrianus
I want to ask this bug to be re-opened.
Like Ivanyung I edit ~/.config/totem/xine_config but my reason to edit it is
because the current media.vcd.device parameter is set to /media/cdrom0
I tried to make totem play vcd via Movie-Play disc command
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 for i386, and currently I can only play VCD with xine-ui
or with totem-xine via command line
$ totem vcd:///dev/cdrom

If I use
$ totem vcd:///media/cdrom0
then the totem will complain that There is no input plugin to handle the
location of this movie

I suspect that the current Movie-Play disc will use /media/cdrom0 (the mounted
cd) when what it needed was /dev/cdrom (the link to the device file).
I also suspect that by editing the xine_config file then totem-xine would use
/dev/cdrom to play vcd but after I edit the file and save it, everytime I ran
totem to play something the file get reset back.

I have search via googles about totem-xine unable to play vcd and many
people think that totem-xine is unable to play vcd and switch to mplayer
or vlc for that purpose. But one of the entries I found in the internet
point me that there might be no symlink /cdrom that points to /dev/cdrom

If there is any info that I can supply to help solve this bug please
tell me what is needed.

[Bug 228633] Re: Ubuntu 8.04 Freezes

2008-06-26 Thread Adrianus
I have just install Ubuntu 8.04 on Acer Travelmate 6292 and experiences the
same thing.
I was connected to the network using ethernet cable, and was downloading update
using update manager.
The hangs also happened when I just leave the notebook for several hours for a
meeting.
After all the update finishes it still happens. This is a very annoying bug,
and one of my colleague also has experience this using Lenovo notebook. He has
stopped using Ubuntu and goes back using Windows until this problem is fixed.

[Bug 133239] Re: booting with iwl4965 enabled (via the kill switch) crashes the kernel on Thinkpad T61P

2008-06-26 Thread Adrianus
I still experience kernel crash (caps lock blinking) on my Acer Travelmate 6292
using Ubuntu 8.04.
I have updated the kernel to the latest in Ubuntu main repository, but the
issue still happens.
I notice that when I don't have wireless access point nearby this issue didn't
appear.
If 2.6.22-10-generic has fix it then there must be a regression since I believe
I now has higher kernel version.

[Bug 164301] Re: Bugs behind proxy server with/without authentication

2007-12-21 Thread Adrianus
Hi,
I also experience the same bugs. Somehow when connected to a proxy pidgin sent
incorrect url when fetching yahoo buddy icon. It strips the protocol and
website.
I heavily suspect this is a pidgin bug, because my other friends using Kopete
and YM client in windows has no problem fetching the buddy icon through the
exact same proxy. My office proxy (squid) was not setup to require
authentication so I doubt the problem is in that direction.
Note that getting profile is working, only fetching yahoo buddy icon is not.

Best Regards
Adrianus

[Bug 94304] Re: Dial-up modem in Network-Admin not functional in Feisty

2007-10-12 Thread Adrianus
Just want to add one thing. I found out that one problem that makes the network
manager seems not to be able to dial is that it keep reverting the setting back
to pulse.
I assume this kind of bug should not be difficult or take a long time to be fix
by the maintainer ?
I am aware that there are a lot of bugs, so if this one is not so difficult to
be fixed by the person who knows the source code (the one who create it in the
first place or modify it) I strongly hope this will be fixed at least when
Gutsy came out (in other word, please put it in higher priority than other more
difficult bugs)
Connectivity (wifi, LAN, dialup, bluetooth) is basic function which has high
priority in modern desktop.

[Bug 93396] Re: [Feisty] File save dialog delets filename when changing directory

2007-09-14 Thread Adrianus
I experience the same bug,
happened to me a lot trying to save attachment from Thunderbird or evolution
mail client.
Also happened sometimes when saving html pages.
Most annoying is when trying to save attachment(s) in the email, because my
colleagues sent a lot of whitepaper, presentation, customer proposal, all have
to be saved into different directories.
I either have to copy the filename to the clipboard or retype the correct
filename because of this bug.
I didn't notice it in edgy, but in Feisty this is very real.

[Bug 94304] Re: Dial-up modem in Network-Admin not functional in Feisty

2007-07-06 Thread Adrianus
I had dialup working in Edgy using gnome-ppp and sl-modem
When I upgraded to Feisty it stopped working, but I got it fixed by downgrading
the sl-modem-daemon to edgy version.
I am wondering if the sl-modem-daemon package is upgraded in Feisty without
testing to ensure it still works ?
I assume that almost every new notebook now includes a winmodem, and in my
part of the world, it is still used a lot.
I have just make the networkmanager dial-up feature work after reading this :

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2819655

I didn't use Cingular, so I only do step number one, and the name of the
provider is ppp0
I fill the setting in network admin and in the Options tab of settings for
interface for ppp0 I checked
Set modem as default route to internet and Use the internet service
providers name server then I can connect, and submit this comment.
But the applet still shows as if I am not connected AND the setting keep
reverted back to pulse.
I assume at least the settings that keep reverted back to pulse part can be
checked in the code without a working modem ?

[Bug 124312] OpenGL color bug in Feisty

2007-07-05 Thread Adrianus
Public bug reported:

Using Acer Travelmate 4151 LCi
Graphic controller : Intel GMA 900

Warcraft III Frozen Throne (using wine) change color after upgrading from edgy
to feisty using alternate CD
Problem also mentioned in this url :

http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=1177
Find the text OpenGL graphics problem in the web page above

Current workaround found here by downgrading mesa packages to edgy
version

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2930214

Have tried the workaround, but this work around broke beryl and compiz in
feisty...
Apparently Warcraft III Frozen throne is not the only application affected by
this bug.

Please try to fix this in Feisty... don't want to choose between desktop effect

[Bug 80925] Re: dri image corruption i810 driver in fullscreen

2007-07-04 Thread Adrianus
This is what warcraft frozen throne opening screen should look like.
(This is captured when using wine d3d instead of wine opengl)

There is a thread in wine forum

http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=1177iTestingId=1839

look at the comment titled OpenGL graphics problem.
I suspect this bug is related with the OpenGL screensaver preview distortion
reported above, because both have transparency problem or some layer that
should be infront is not showing causing the image look strange.

Additional info : the wine opengl problem is not showing in Edgy, only
Feisty.

If anybody needs more info I would be glad to provide it.
