[Bug 1921582] Re: Plank not responding after changing password then relogging
** Description changed: After changing password then logging out and logging in ( as per the 'About me' manual test https://github.com/ubuntu-mate/qa/blob/master /manual-tests/about-me.md ) keyring dialogue came up as apparently my keyring password is now different to my login password. The keyring dialogue came up behind MATE Welcome and was unfocused even after clicking on it but I had to type in my old password in that before I could interact with the OS. After I had entered the old password - everything is working except Plank which has completely frozen and I - can't interact with it. + everything is working except Plank (Mutiny layout) which has completely + frozen and I can't interact with it. [Bug 1921588] [NEW] Firefox doesn't support HUD
Public bug reported: Currently, Firefox doesn't support HUD ( `mate-hud`, I assume Unity's HUD is also affected as per https://ubuntuunity.org/2020/06/05/hud- globalmenu-firefox/ ), as Martin Wimpress said in his Wimpy's World Discord server 27/03/2021 15:12 UTC 'Some apps are removing support for ModelMenu. That used to be a patch that Canonical contributed to Firefox, which is long since dropped.' Filing this bug as maybe a community member would want to re-introduce this patch. But if this is a Won't Fix please mark it as such, just wanted to get the issue logged as I can't find it elsewhere on Launchpad. [Bug 1770961] Re: Add options to set the snappy refresh schedule
dee bee if you want an off switch it's already been extensively discussed at https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/disabling-automatic-refresh- for-snap-from-store/707/ Please Like all the posts there that you agree with and provide SPECIFIC and preferably REAL use cases where an off switch is needed not just the ability to schedule updates for once a month and push them back another month as well as turn off automatic updates when on a metered connection. (Former?) snapd lead niemeyer requested specific use cases to demonstrate that an off switch is NEEDED. If you would like to put the work in, please read the thread in full and then provide what the developers are requesting on use cases and, if that's not possible, just Like all the posts you agree with. In which case the fix is not relevant for this bug, since I was backing up to a USB stick, not a server? I can't reproduce this bug now because I did a new full backup to workaround the problem, but it seems other people are affected in any case, so perhaps someone affected could provide more details about this bug if I can't. ** Description changed: + Workaround: Delete your backup and make a new one + + --- + Same problem as https://bugs.launchpad.net/deja-dup/+bug/1717230 but opening a new bug because as far as I know that's standard practice when a bug is apparently not fixed by a previous fix? [Bug 1823322] Re: Changing Heading 1 to Heading 2 and then updating table of contents cuts of the whole Heading 2 section
** Summary changed: - Changing Heading 1 to Heading 2 and then updating table of contents deletes the whole Heading 2 section + Changing Heading 1 to Heading 2 and then updating table of contents cuts of the whole Heading 2 section ** Description changed: I've got a 20,129 word (122.5 kB) ODT with a number of headings and a table of contents. [Bug 1815239] [NEW] [snap] Using the Groupedbar Compact user interface and tiling to half the screen, expanding then collapsing grouped bar loses Font group
Public bug reported: Using the Groupedbar Compact user interface and tiling the window to half the screen by moving it to the right, expanding then collapsing grouped bar (by pressing the arrow (->) to the right of the Font group then clicking off the expansion (it should bring up the Paragraph, Insert, References, Review, and View groups)) moves the Font group to the expansion and results in a fair amount of grey space where the Font group was previously. Re-maximizing the window and then re-tiling to half the screen usually corrects this effect. Possible that this is an upstream bug but wanted to file here (partially for Olivier's opinion) before filing upstream. [Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find
This is an upstream GNOME bug (though you might want to make the case that Ubuntu should deviate from the default GNOME behaviour for this issue, in which case please open a new bug since I don't think standard practice is to re-open old bugs like this when it has been fixed in an Ubuntu release? I think you could reasonably tag the new bug as a regression. [Bug 1769383] Re: Ubuntu dock/launcher is shown on the lock screen
In response to comments complaining about fix times etc, I do not think complaining in comments helps, it just creates noise. There's a button at the top to mark oneself as affected by the bug as a replacement for making that kind of comment (one can argue that it should been marked as Critical rather than High because this is a security issue, however). If you want to complain about bug response times, I suggest making a new topic on community.ubuntu.com/c/desktop and make practical suggestions about how they could be made faster. Additionally, someone mentioned that this should have been in the release notes. I think you can mark this bug as affecting the ubuntu- release-notes project to flag up the fact that you believe that it should be in the release notes, though I can't remember if release notes can be amended post-release or not? I recognize that I'm creating noise myself by posting this comment... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769383 Title: Ubuntu dock/launcher is shown on the lock screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1769383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I think a lot of my problems were caused by installing Dash to Dock, changing settings, and then removing Dash to Dock. [Bug 1774617] [NEW] Filter out snaps from GNOME Software
Public bug reported: An option should be provided in Software & Updates to filter out snaps from GNOME Software. Perhaps this should also affect the command-line (just as disabling restricted and multiverse would affect the command- line). Perhaps a dialogue box should be created when turning off snaps and the dialogue should ask whether to remove snapd entirely (first removing the snaps) or to set the refresh timer to monthly ( which is as close to turning it off as possible, timer CLI is here: https://snapdocs.labix.org/configuration-options/87 ), or to remove all snaps, or just to remove them from GNOME Software (for snaps, this could just hide apps that have their source listed as 'Snap Store'). [Bug 1774611] [NEW] Add an option to filter out Proprietary snaps (and Flatpaks) from GNOME Software
Public bug reported: Currently, there's no options to filter out proprietary snaps (and, I suppose, Flatpaks?) from Software. When I click on the application drop- down for Software, it links to Software & Updates, which I suppose is where Software would be filtered. Please could an option to filter out proprietary snaps (just as there are options to filter out proprietary Debs by only enabling the main and universe pockets) be provided? The option for snaps should only be visible when gnome-software-plugin-snap is installed and the option for Flatpaks only visible when gnome- software-plugin-flatpak is installed. Like with the Debs though, perhaps this should also affect the command line, if a `snap install` is attempted for a proprietary snap, or one attempts to install a proprietary Flatpak from a remote, the command line should print something like 'The ability to install proprietary snaps' or Flatpaks 'has been disabled so the snap' or Flatpak 'will not be installed. If you would like to install the proprietary snap' or Flatpak 'then change the setting for proprietary snaps' or Flatpaks 'in Software & Updates'. [Bug 1766137] Re: [regression] Password accepted but login fails (blank purple screen and mouse pointer only)
The fix was committed but 'verification-failed-bionic' which means that it didn't work well enough. We have to wait for the developers to come up with a better fix, and there's no ETA on that, unless you're a developer yourself and know how to fix the issue we just have to wait. It's not ideal but _there's nothing else we can do_, we just have to click Cancel after entering an incorrect password and retrying for now :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766137 Title: [regression] Password accepted but login fails (blank purple screen and mouse pointer only) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gdm/+bug/1766137/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

1. 'a generic performance issue' which is 'not actionable per se' https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/issues/296#note_80630 2, 3.
