[Bug 1184451] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites
I started experiencing this hang after I upgraded from Kubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 yesterday (both 64 bit). The freeze usually happens when I try to context switch between windows running Firefox or between Firefox/Thunderbird windows. It also happens when I close windows. The problem is not consistent (i.e., happening on every switch/close) but happens fairly frequently. Ctl-Alt-F1/Ctl- Alt-F7 does not always help. Recovery takes several seconds. A reboot does not fix the problem, i.e., hangs happen after reboots. [Bug 1184451] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites
Follow up to comment 25. Sometimes the hang happens even while browsing within a Firefox window. I saw the following in dmesg around the time of the problems. I tried Ctl-Alt-F1/Ctl-Alt-F7 and the graphics screen hung (black screen with moveable mouse cursor). I do recall seeing the login screen for a moment and the black screen right after I logged in again. I then rebooted the system. [Bug 1022028] Re: Libreoffice crashes when saving spreadsheet/document
The following sequence causes a crash for me consistently: 1. Start LibreOffice writer (lowriter ). 2. Type in something. 3. File - Save. 4. Type in a filename. 5. Click save. Sometimes, the crash occurs when typing in a filename. At other times, it happens when clicking save. No file is saved. There is no core dump even though my ulimit -c is set to unlimited. Exit status is 255. When restarting LibreOffice, it asks whether I wish to recover the untitled document. When I confirm that I want to, LibreOffice reports that the recovery was successful, but the resulting file is empty. This is with Kubuntu 12.10 64-bit. LibreOffice Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2)). $ uname -a Linux localhost 3.5.0-22-generic #34-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 8 21:47:00 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1022028 Title: Libreoffice crashes when saving spreadsheet/document To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1022028/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
