[Bug 1574125] Re: suspend not working after upgrade

2016-04-25 Thread Alex Balmus
Same problem on another HP Pavillion DV7.
The fan keep spinning after suspend.
The machine is completely unresponsive and it can only be woken by a hard reset.
Everything worked fine on 15.10.

[Bug 1197788] Re: indicator-application-service crashed with signal 5 in g_type_create_instance()

2013-10-22 Thread Alex Balmus
I do not know how to reproduce this exactly.
I logged out then tried to log-in again.
The login screen was behaving as if the password was being checked and it
stayed that way for a few minutes.
I logged in into tty2 and sudo shutdown now
When the system restarted and I logged in again this error showed up.

[Bug 1136556] Re: [HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC, IDT 92HD81B1X5, Black Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all

2013-04-29 Thread Alex Balmus
Hi guys,

I have similar issues with a HP dv7 6090ef laptop but I have a workaround.
The issues appeared after I upgraded to 13.04.

How to reproduce:
When I start the computer I have sound in speakers.
When I plug headphones into one of te two front headphone jacks I have no sound.
WORKAROUND: I start the alsamixer in a terminal and I unmute the second column
(Speaker) and I get sound from the headphone jack.
When I unplug the headphones I have sound in the speakers.
When I plug them again I have no sound and I have to unmute again from the
alsamixer.

I did not have this problem in 12.04.

I believe this bug is similar and/or a duplicate of:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1158909
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1056669

If there is any way I can help you debug this problem please leave a
comment here (I have activated the emails) or contact me directly.

Thanks,
Alex

[Bug 1068661] Re: 1002:6740 Unity does not load after installing fglrx-installer Radeon HD 6700M Series

2012-10-24 Thread Alex Balmus
I have a Hp Pavillion DV7 with Inter Core i7 and hybrid graphics
Intel/AMD 6770M

I have tried:
- fglrx driver from software sources (fglrx and fglrx-updates)
- 12.9, 12.10 and 12.11 driver from AMD website

I get the same problem - unity doesn't load after the instalation of teh
driver.

The open source driver works.
I can only use the Intel card, I cannot switch via vgaswitcheroo. I disable
the AMD (DIS) via a startup script.
