2022-05-05 Thread Alfredo Matas
I can confirm that using the version 100 (available in the candidate
channel of snap at the time of writing this comment) the wayland backend
works again.

Looking forward to have this version in the stable channel of snap :)

Previous versions of Firefox worked with the wayland backend, with the

[Bug 1947120] [NEW] rpm fails to recognize signatures from latest centos/fedora

2021-10-14 Thread Alfredo Moralejo
Public bug reported:

Hello,

When trying to read rpm packages from latest fedora/centos i get an
error:

# wget
https://composes.stream.centos.org/production/latest-CentOS-Stream/compose/BaseOS/x86_64/os/Packages/filesystem-3.16-2.el9.x86_64.rpm
# rpm -q -i -p filesystem-3.16-2.el9.x86_64.rpm
error: filesystem-3.16-2.el9.x86_64.rpm: signature hdr data: BAD, no. of
bytes(3919692) out of range
error: filesystem-3.16-2.el9.x86_64.rpm: not an rpm package (or package
manifest)

I'm using version 4.14.2.1+dfsg1-1build2 in focal.

This seems similar to the issue reported in
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1918777

Note this seems fixed in last impish build 4.16.1.2+dfsg1-3ubuntu1, but i think
it'd be good to get the fix in current supported version focal.

Thanks,

Alfredo

[Bug 1888101] Re: 'unsupported protocol' error when using PyMySQL

2020-08-18 Thread Luis Alfredo Contreras
Hi, I had the same issue but I found a solution.

I was creating a docker container based on ubuntu 20.04 and Python3.8.2.
It installed openssl by default. The version from 2020-Mar-31 12:41:55
openssl-1.1.1f.tar.gz was giving me an this error: ssl.SSLError: [SSL:
UNSUPPORTED_PROTOCOL] unsupported protocol (_ssl.c:1108). After looking
for solutions, I found this link: https://cloudwafer.com/blog
/installing-openssl-on-ubuntu-16-04-18-04/. In that link, you can find
how to install openssl from the source. It shows you how to install the
version from 2019-May-28 13:26:28 openssl-1.1.1c.tar.gz. First I built
my container as originally and logged in and I followed the steps in the
link. It solved my problem. The latest version from March 2020 was
causing the issue.

I added the lines of code below when building the docker container to
automate the steps. See:

RUN apt install build-essential checkinstall zlib1g-dev -y
WORKDIR /usr/local/src/
RUN wget https://www.openssl.org/source/openssl-1.1.1c.tar.gz && tar -xf
openssl-1.1.1c.tar.gz
WORKDIR openssl-1.1.1c
RUN ./config --prefix=/usr/local/ssl --openssldir=/usr/local/ssl shared zlib &&
make && make install
COPY ./openssl-1.1.1c.conf /etc/ld.so.conf.d/
RUN ldconfig -v && mv /usr/bin/c_rehash /usr/bin/c_rehash.backup && mv
/usr/bin/openssl /usr/bin/openssl.backup
ENV
PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games:/usr/local/ssl/bin"

* Note that I created the openssl-1.1.1c.conf file before building the
container. The file is copied from the same directory where the dockerfile is
saved. Create the file with that name and paste this inside: /usr/local/ssl/lib

I hope this helps.

instead of US-122mkII)

lfredo@alfredo-pc:~$ cat /proc/asound/cards
 0 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
HDA NVidia at 0xdbff8000 irq 23
 1 [US122L ]: USB US-122L - TASCAM US-122L
  TASCAM US-122L (644:8021 if 0 at 001/002)

Then create .asoundrc file.

And finally run jackd with the following presets

jackd -RP60 -dalsa -dusb_stream:1 -r48000 -p256 -n2

Hope someone find this useful.

Regards, Alfredo

[Bug 1787757] [NEW] pinning doesn't recognizes releases names

2018-08-18 Thread Alfredo Rezinovsky
Public bug reported:

Because pinning doesn't recongnizes releases names and treats them
alphabetically it fails knowing which package is newest.

This failed because the alphabet has ended and release names started
again with A, B...

Eg: 13.2.1-1bionic seems as a downgrade for 13.2.1-1xenial when it's
really an upgrade.

[Bug 1651704] Re: Overcloud deployment fails when node introspection is enabled

2017-01-09 Thread Alfredo Moralejo
After some additional testing, i'd say that this issue may be related to
error handling when running introspection bulk and one of the
introspection fails.

In this case one of them is failing because of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/tripleo/+bug/1651719 but "openstack baremetal
introspection bulk start" is returning 0 and sometimes the server which
is properly introspected is in manageable status when the command
finishes.

[Bug 1651704] Re: Overcloud deployment fails when node introspection is enabled

2017-01-09 Thread Alfredo Moralejo
I'm following the tripleo-quickstart workflow.

1. Create VMs in virthost, one for undercloud, one for controller and one for
compute
2. I deployed undercloud
3. Run following commands:

openstack baremetal import --json instackenv.json
openstack baremetal configure boot
openstack baremetal introspection bulk start

At that point i executed commands in comment #7

[Bug 1651704] Re: Overcloud deployment fails when node introspection is enabled

2016-12-23 Thread Alfredo Moralejo
I've reproduced this locally running RDO from master. I have a ironic
installation (a tripleo undercloud), and i've registered a node and
instrospect it:

This is how the node looks like from ironic perspective:

$ openstack baremetal show e14be55d-8dd9-4b08-aa5d-efab2b5a5c01
This command is deprecated. Instead, use 'openstack baremetal node show'.

[Bug 1651704] Re: Overcloud deployment fails when node introspection is enabled

2016-12-21 Thread Alfredo Moralejo
So, if we focus in the node where introspection run properly (c6f8f4ba-

1. Introspection finishes successfully with right information according to

2. Nova scheduler discards it by RamFilter:

That's about 4 minutes and 30 seconds between end of introspection and
nova scheduller error, I'd say that should be enough, what do you think?

[Bug 1593664] [NEW] openstackclient fails with --os-token and --os-url

openstackclient/commit/6ae0d2e8a54fd5139e63a990ab4bdce634e73c5e was
merged, authentication using admin token is failing.

Test:

export OS_IMAGE_API_VERSION=1
export OS_IDENTITY_API_VERSION=3
export OS_TOKEN=57562bf156da4e09899b37cca5a63ba5
export OS_URL=http://127.0.0.1:35357/v3

Try any operation:

WARNING: openstackclient.common.utils is deprecated and will be removed after

'StrOpt' object has no attribute 'deprecated'

And returns 1.

[Bug 1584522] Re: [UIFe] Don't show GNOME Books by default

2016-05-26 Thread Alfredo Hernández
I think that until GNOME Books doesn't support .epub files, there's not
a big gain in displaying it. I think Evince should be used to open .djvu
files, as the DJVU file format is usually used for compressed scanned
books (or that's my experience, at least), so from a UX point of view,
it should be handled by the same program that handles PDFs.

I personally do use Books for its amazing features regarding collections
(inherited from Documents, of course), but as you said, it's not a good
idea to have the app if it shows files it can't open.

Hopefully, this will be fixed soon when native ePub/MOBI support comes
to GNOME Books.

[Bug 1578610] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 - Bad support for Intel Wireless 7260

2016-05-26 Thread Alfredo Gemma
Hi Corey,

As you can see from the previous messages, Fix Released just means that
the bug has been fixed in the latest upstream kernel (v4.6) that I
tested.

After testing the kernel v4.6 I also verified that the Intel Wireless
7260 support is not an issue anymore, starting from the kernel v4.4 (I
had 4.3).

[Bug 1577599] Re: [CM1855, Realtek ALC892, Green Line Out, Rear] Sound is distorted / Audio Notification unstable (Popping in/out)

2016-05-22 Thread Alfredo Mendez
After looking through other distros, this is a widespread bug. I've
tested Ubuntu Mate 16.04 and the same issue persists, instead of
notification, the audio cuts off at times.

Another distro i've tested is ChaletOS, the notification is constant in
this one and same audio issues persist. I would recommend switching this
to critical.

http://i.imgur.com/FXPqPs8.png

I did not screenshot the Mate distro since I dont have a lot of time in
my hands, but you can technically see that in ChaletOS, its also
affected. Which leads that my current setup is incompatible with any new
current linux distros.

Lastly, there is some sort of Bluetooth bug as well. This computer does
not have any sort of WIFI/Bluetooth capabilities that I'm aware of in
Windows. So, the issue is bigger than I thought it would be. I will
continue to analyze further. Thanks everyone for the fast notice.

[Bug 1565560] Re: yelp still using old GNOME logo

2016-04-04 Thread Alfredo Hernández
As Tim has commented, Yelp is an important part of stock GNOME, and it
should remain untouched. Technically, you could have XFCE, KDE, etc
programs in your Ubuntu GNOME machine; having a branded Help application
may lead to misunderstandings, as a user may think it will contain
documentation for all the programs, when this is clearly not true.

You can, indeed, unset attributes.
gvfs-set-attribute myfolder -t unset metadata::custom-icon would delete the
metadata::custom-icon attribute from myfolder.

[Bug 1404028] Re: Illegible dark blue text on grey background

2015-02-09 Thread Alfredo Hernández
I think I've found the problem in the code. Any way, reading the code,
I've realised that maybe we are using the colours wrongly. The bright
colour (referred as blue in the code) should be actually the brightest
and the dark colour (referred as brown in the code) should show the
operations.

In the attachment, the top image is how Plymouth would look if we fixed
the dark colour, and the bottom image is how it would look if we also
fixed the hierarchy of the colours.

Is the dark (aka brown) colour clear enough or should the colour be more
prominent to improve reading?

[Bug 1386576] Re: encrypted lvm partition passphrase input

2014-10-30 Thread alfredo
Hello, may be an uefi problem. I have tested to boot with an encrypted
bios-boot stick. Not perfect, but may be work Further investigation is
needed.
Then i have made a binary copy of the initrd from the stick to my
(uefi)-harddisk. Now I must boot without splash ! and enter the passphrase in a
totally blank screen. After X is up, the system is usable.
Looking in a grub shell after initial-boot, the video-environment is totally
different in bios and uefi mode. UEFI runs in higher resolution. May be a
problem for the kernel.

So cryptosetup on my uefi-pc is really unusuable. Don´t know, how to make
further tests.
The only thing i can say, in ubuntu 14.04 i can normally boot with splash
screen and normal passphrase input.

Regards, Alfredo
