[Bug 1971196] [NEW] Applications automatically expand and go under the dock

2022-05-02 Thread Aman Kumar
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Release:22.04
Screen resolution -> 1366*768 (16:9)
Refresh Rate -> 60.11 Hz

I have the following settings for my dock:
Auto hide -> Off
Panel Mode -> Off
Icon Size -> 32
Show on -> Built in display
Position on screen -> right

Now, sometimes some applications, which are not active/current windows,
expand and go under the dock. If I detach them from the top and reattach
them, then again they stick to the dock's border, but may again go under
it sometime later. This behaviour is quite unpredictable, and I don't
know how someone would reproduce it. Please see the attached image for
further clarification.

** Attachment added: "See that my pdf viewer's window has gone under the dock.
My dock is not in autohide mode, so this should not happen. My window should
stick to the dock's border."

[Bug 1930983] [NEW] PCI/internal sound card not detected

2021-06-07 Thread Aman Kumar Singh
Public bug reported:

I am bit new to linux and I tried to run this python code. At the first
time it asked me to install libespeak-dev and try to run the code again.
After installing it when I ran the code the sound was very weird and
very robotic and it was terrible to listen. Here is the code:

import pyttsx3

engine = pyttsx3.init()

def speak(text):
engine.say(text)
engine.runAndWait()

speak("Hello World and this is a test.")
When I tried to run the same code on windows 10, with the same python version,
it sounded normal, but when I tried to run the code on ubuntu 20.04 LTS, it
sounded very terrible.

For some reasons I am unable to attach the mp3 file to tell how terrible
it sounds. By the way I am using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS which comes with
default installation of python 3.8.5. Is there any fix to this? Because
it sounds very bad. Thanks in advance...

[Bug 1926062] Re: [hirsute] Can't turn bluetooth on again after turning it off

2021-05-04 Thread Aman Kumar
I was facing the same problem. My toggle was not at all working, neither
from the top bar dropdown menu nor from the settings window. Switching
on the toggle did not have any effect. I had also reported this bug.
Someone in the comments had suggested a workaround to type this command
in the terminal:

systemctl restart Bluetooth

This command kind of hard restarts the Bluetooth service and works for
me for the time being until the bug is fixed. It might also help someone
else.

[Bug 1926095] [NEW] The bluetooth toggle is not working properly. Switching it on does not turn on the bluetooth. It remains off permanently.

2021-04-25 Thread Aman Kumar
Public bug reported:

I have described the issue here with screenshots
https://askubuntu.com/q/1333848/1022606. Please have a look at the
screenshots. Turning on the Bluetooth toggle has no effect. The system
doesn't turn on the Bluetooth and does no scan for devices. Turning it
on just moves the toggle, even the system doesn't acknowledge by showing
that Bluetooth is on. The status remains off. It happened only after the
upgrade I did yesterday. It was working fine before that. Please look
into it. I cannot connect my Bluetooth earphones to my PC. This poses a
lot of problems since my classes and courses are all online.

[Bug 1905281] [NEW] /etc/hosts data is not properly mapped

2020-11-23 Thread Aman Kumar Sinha
Public bug reported:

If we use manage_etc_host: true in cloud.cfg , this will enable
update_etc_host module which go and update /etc/hosts file.

Right now the what happen is the dns resolvable name mapped to the local host
ip (127.0.0.1 / ::1)
This makes sense in case of a VM deployed with private IP, where we can ping
the hostname from the VM itself.
But when we deploy a VM with public IP, in that case also the FQDN is mapped
against localhost IP, which doesn't make much sense. Ideally it should be FQDN
should be mapped the public IP.

/etc/host content in
Private IP [2]
Public IP [3]

I even raised a concern on this in the IRC channel, but was not able to resolve
the query
