[Bug 1246736] [NEW] touchpad won't move mouse after waking from sleep (still scrolls and clicks)

2013-10-31 Thread Ana Nelson
Public bug reported:

After waking the computer from sleep (initiated by closing the lid), I
can't move the mouse using the touchpad. The touchpad will still click
and scroll, the mouse cursor is visible but it doesn't move. The
TrackPoint mouse still works, and plugging in an external mouse works.

If I turn the Touchpad off and on in the Mouse Touchpad settings, then
it resumes working.

Stack trace in /var/log/Xorg.0.log (presumably attached) looks relevant:

[Bug 989856] Re: import random fails because _urandom is unavailable

2012-04-28 Thread Ana Nelson
I found this same error after upgrading to precise pangolin and
activating my virtualenv. I was able to work around it by creating a
fresh virtualenv which worked as expected, I just had to reinstall all
python libs into the new virtualenv.

Error messages I saw:

When trying to run nosetests:

File /usr/lib/python2.7/multiprocessing/process.py, line 309, in __init__
self._authkey = AuthenticationString(os.urandom(32))
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'urandom'

When trying to run pip:

File /usr/lib/python2.7/random.py, line 47, in module
from os import urandom as _urandom
ImportError: cannot import name urandom
