[Bug 738118] [NEW] Unusable submittodebian

2011-03-19 Thread Andrea Carpineti
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntu-dev-tools

apt-cache show ubuntu-dev-tools lists submittodebian as a tool included
in the installation. Trying to use submittodebian with ubuntu-dev-tools
installed I obtain a message which say to install the reportbug package
(recommended in the ubuntu-dev-tools package). After I installed the
reportbug package submittodebian works correctly.

[Bug 738118] Re: Unusable submittodebian

2011-03-19 Thread Andrea Carpineti
Thanks for the prompt reply Benjamin! Since ubuntu-dev-tools lists
submittodebian among the included package I believed it should work also
without install the recommended packages. Also in the wiki is said that
ubuntu-dev-tools includes submittodebian. Logically speaking if a
package A includes the package B I believe is reasonably think that if I
have A then I also have B (without install other stuff).

Hi Konstantin,
just upgrade your system. You can use the command:
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade

More details can be found at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AptGet/Howto
If you don't update your system from a while the libgl1-mesa-glx package will
be updated and this bug will be fixed (thank to Chris!!! :D ).

[Bug 731193] [NEW] Incomplete search results

2011-03-08 Thread Andrea Carpineti
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: software-center

Adding more letters to a search increases the number of results, which (I
think) should never happen.
I discovered the issue trying to install the texlive package and I use it as an
example, but the problem is more general. For example using the search string:
- 'texl' or 'texli' or 'texliv' the only result is 'Therion Cave Survey
Software' (1 result)
- 'texlive' the results are 'Texlive' and 'Therion Cave Survey Software' (2
results)
- 'texlive-' the results are a lot of packages (part of texlive-full...) (92
results)

Like we can infer from the above examples the problem is also that the showed
results are incomplete. Searching for 'texliv' should show also the 'texlive'
package and probably the texlive-(...) packages.
This issue had been also discussed at

2011-03-05 Thread Andrea Carpineti
Tks Sebastien for you help. Although logging in an Ubuntu Destop Edition
session the Compiz crash still occurs, unfortunately at the moment I'm
not able to obtain a valid stacktrace. My efforts are available at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10524823

In addition the workaround that I mentioned in my first post seems not
working anymore. At the end I had to disable the autologin and use a
different session (Classic Desktop (No effects)).

[Bug 728302] Answering some questions

2011-03-04 Thread Andrea Carpineti
I'm experiencing a similar problem (maybe same). I will try to answer to the
questions raised to complete the investigation:
1) In my case the crash occurs launching Empathy (Application - Internet -
Empathy).
I saw the main empathy window, the opening of my favorite chats and then the
apport's window with the crash of the telepathy-logger.
2) I have an AMD notebook that runs Natty i386 (more in my attachment
apport-retrace.txt)
3) I thought they were in the Dependencies.txt attachment anyway I added a
second attach with the result of the command dpkg -l *glib*

I hope my apport-retrace.txt contains a valid trace. I obtained it through
the apport-retrace command.
Thanks for your indications.

PS: I still haven't tried the PPA suggested by Omer

2011-02-22 Thread Andrea Carpineti
I have the same issue and (like others) I can recreate it at will. When
I connect my USB wireless card it seem to work properly (just some
seconds). After that I can see the error in every tty console:

My system infos:
Release: Natty
