Dunno how it was before, but don't think it's the task of paste to deal with trailing whitespace. So if a comment line has trailing whitespace, remove it before copying or get it copied. Copy and paste is the wrong place changing code IMHO, Don't see any python-mode related bug here, being inclined to flag in invalid.
