2014-12-27 Thread Andrej Mernik
Public bug reported:

Version 1.4.1+ds1-2.1build2 of BlockAttack installs puzzles in

[Bug 1397098] [NEW] Airstrike contains several packaging bugs

2014-11-27 Thread Andrej Mernik
Public bug reported:

I found two major bugs for this game:

- The Sound files are not installed therefore the sound is missing.
- The airstrikerc file is not where the commandline says (e.g. ~/.airstrikerc),
it's actually in /etc/airstrikerc which is not writable and settings cannot be
saved

I don't think this was a problem in previous Ubuntu versions.

[Bug 1397098] Re: Airstrike contains several packaging bugs

2014-11-27 Thread Andrej Mernik
Are we really looking at the same package? If you look at
http://icculus.org/airstrike/airstrike-pre6a-src.tar.gz it clearly contains
/data/sound.
For the second bug: if you run the game via airstrike --option it says: All
options are currently given in the config files, located at $HOME/.airstrikerc
and $PWD/airstrikerc. Quitting. If this is not true, please patch the
airstrike.c with correct string. Alternatively, the file could be copied by the
game at start. Copy /etc/airstrikerc to ~/.airstrikerc and edit settings. You
will be surprised to see them work.

Open Apper, and click Updates. Then click on Check for new updates and
wait for the process to finish. After that Apper will show that system

show that there are indeed available updates.

[Bug 1296133] [NEW] Suspend and hibernate missing from KMenu and Power Management in System settings

2014-03-22 Thread Andrej Mernik
Public bug reported:

I have used install scripts to install Kubuntu 14.04 on three completely
different systems. Although the packages installed are basically the
same, one of the system has no Suspend/hibernate options in the KMenu
nor in the Power management in the KDE System settings. Since this is a
laptop, this also means that the battery life is greatly reduced,
because it cannot go to standby when lid is closed or when it's idle.
Interestingly, If I logout, there is a Standby button on the lighdm
login screen. If I click it, the laptop goes to standby and wakes up
without problems.

[Bug 1238941] [NEW] Missing files for kanagram, khangman and ktuberling

2013-10-11 Thread Andrej Mernik
Public bug reported:

The entire http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kde4/sl/data/ folder is
missing from the Slovenian langpack build (kde-l10n-sl). Since the files
are unchanged for years, there is no reason why they shouldn't be
included.

They were there in
precise: http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/kde-l10n-sl/filelist
quantal: http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/all/kde-l10n-sl/filelist

but from raring onwards they are gone:

[Bug 1171081] Re: The numbering of the package is undescriptive

2013-04-22 Thread Andrej Mernik
If there is a reason why the numbering must remain in the current state,
could the YEAR.MONTH be added to the package description. In such a way,
there would be no confusion and the packaging name could remain as it
is.

[Bug 1171081] [NEW] The numbering of the package is undescriptive

2013-04-21 Thread Andrej Mernik
Public bug reported:

If you look at the fglrx package for raring:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/fglrx you can see it's numbered 9.010.
But this, unfortunately, doesn't tell much which version it is, as AMD
(usually) releases drivers with YEAR.MONTH naming scheme. The only easy
way to find out when the driver was released is to
use:http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Category%3aReleases

Why this numbering is used? I think it's very confusing.

[Bug 1131271] [NEW] Both polkit-kde-1 and policykit-1-gnome should be installed if the application depends on them

2013-02-21 Thread Andrej Mernik
Public bug reported:

I just installed custom version of Ubuntu 12.10 Server with KDE and
Apper as the package manager. The policy kit part was installed, but
unfortunately it was policykit-1-gnome so there were no dialogs in
Apper. I fixed the bug by installing polkit-kde-1 manually.

If you look at the package page of for example quantal version of apper:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/apper you can see it depends on
policykit-1-gnome *or* polkit-kde-1. Since the Gnome version got
installed because I started with Ubuntu base and not Kubuntu, the
dependency was satisfied for apper, but unfortunately this resulted in
an unusable program. The same goes for other programs that need GUI
authentication (like SystemSettings).

Such incidents could be easily avoided if both packages would be
installed.
