[Bug 1323750]

2015-02-22 Thread Andreldm1989-j
This is not a ristretto bug, check these links:
https://github.com/moka-project/faba-mono-icons/issues/13
http://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/comments/2bxx72/moka_icon_theme_ristretto_image_viewer_segfault/

Probably a problem with GDK and/or the Moka theme.

[Bug 1387695]

2015-02-14 Thread Andreldm1989-j
I'm using Thunar from git for a while and so far I haven't spotted any problem.
It'd be great if someone else(besides me and Andrzej) could review the
implementation, but if by any case someone notice a bug or an improvement, we
can handle that in another bug report.

@Steve, I'm going ahead of you and closing this bug =)

[Bug 1308105]

2015-02-10 Thread Andreldm1989-j
@Steve
I guess that Olivier, Alexander or Sean are more suitable to tackle this than
me, all I did was to give some instructions and update the patch, so don't
expect a patch from me any sooner.
I use a 27 display and 19 in extended mode(configured via NVidia Settings)
and everything works smoothly, but as soon as possible, I'll give it a go(with
and without patches) and see what happens while switching, plugging and
unplugging them.

[Bug 1308105]

2015-02-09 Thread Andreldm1989-j
@Jesse
If everything goes well, this fix is going to be on Xfce 4.12, the question is
if Xubuntu is going to ship it in 15.04.
You can also build it by yourself or use a PPA, maybe
https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/+archive/ubuntu/xfce-4.12.

[Bug 1308105]

2015-02-05 Thread Andreldm1989-j
My fault, I wrote this little guide at work and due an annoying proxy I
couldn't git clone... so I downloaded the latest release from:
http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/snapshot/xfce4-settings-4.11.3.tar.bz2

IDK, maybe the following commit has broken the patch:
http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/commit/xfsettingsd/displays.c?id=404d982f2936a58649423642956be563982b2ffa

It's seems to be fairly simple to update the patch, but I'm bit in a
hurry, if none does that, as soon as possible I'll upload a new patch.

[Bug 1308105]

2015-02-05 Thread Andreldm1989-j
@Dave
For Ubuntu 14.04, this is how your you can build xfsettings with the patches:

sudo apt-get install xfce4-dev-tools libexo-1-dev libgarcon-1-0-dev
libxfce4ui-1-dev
git clone git://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings
cd xfce4-settings
curl https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=5681 alexander-patch.diff
curl https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=5723 sean-patch.diff
Choose a patch to Apply: patch -p1 patch
./autogen.sh make sudo make install
/usr/local/bin/xfsettings --replace

If you wanna to try other patch, first remove what's applied:
patch -R -p1 applied patch

After playing, remember to remove the installed xfsettings:
sudo make uninstall

Yeah, I know, what I mean is that Both as a search direction is
strange, how can a search be done up and down? Instead it just goes down
and then wraps to the beginning.

[Bug 1387695]

2014-12-27 Thread Andreldm1989-j
Thanks Andrzej for merging this so fast.
What do you mean by the status bar always showing sizes in decimal units?
If you set in preferences the check for binary format, after closing the dialog
you need to selected another file to see the change.
Regarding the properties dialog, I guess it would be clutter to show sizes in
binary units, decimal units *and bytes*, which is a hint for the size in kB,
MB...

[Bug 1387695]

2014-12-20 Thread Andreldm1989-j
I forgot to mention, this is just a preliminary patch, I'm not sure
about the naming of the variables and strings. Also, preferences needs
to be getted for each call to thunar_file_get_size_string, is there a
better way to handle this?

[Bug 1387695]

2014-11-28 Thread Andreldm1989-j
I guess the first one is more sensible, the second is too much clutter.

I'm tinkering the source, but I don't know how we could call this option:
Use base 1024 for filesize?
Display filesize in IEC units?

Also, where should this option be put? Preferences - Display - Default
View? Or a new section in Display tab?

[Bug 1387695]

2014-11-23 Thread Andreldm1989-j
Even though the Glib docs says we should use base 1000 to display
Network and storage sizes I don't agree. They might have their
rationale for this, but almost everything else displays KiB as KB(I know
this is wrong) or at the best, they display file size as KiB. Even
browsers(Firefox, Chromium...) and the majority of websites display KiB
as KB. They are not ignorants or idiots, they're just not trying to
confuse users.

All in all, I think that Thunar should use base 1024 notation, because
it's not wrong and it's no confusing for the user, for example: Oh, I
downloaded this 60,4 MB file(the site and the browser told the user
this), but Thunar says this is 63.3 MB. The funny thing is that if
everybody is not following the standard, the one that follows is seen as
wrong.

So, if I or someone else submit a patch in order to fix this, will
TPTB accept?

[Bug 1390933]

2014-11-20 Thread Andreldm1989-j
IMHO this Both option is confusing, a additional option like Wrap search or
Wrap around is much more sane (and is the way pretty much text editors handle
this).
Also, when the Replace all in: option is active, Search direction is
useless and could deactivated.
