[Bug 650697] Re: Misleading images for album titles

2010-09-28 Thread Andy Loughran
It would appear as though a random, but related, piece of album art is
found for a particular artist.

In this case, the album art for the artist is that of a track which is
unavailable on the ubuntu one music store.

This is misleading.

[Bug 505781] [NEW] No output from Speaker Jack - but sound coming if headphones plugged in.

2010-01-11 Thread Andy Loughran
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

I updated my karmic installation last night, and I wasn't getting any
sound. After unplugging the speakers and then plugging them in - I got
sound for about 10 seconds then it faded out. If I plugged in my
headphones, then I got sound through them.

I attempted adding model=ref/3stack/5stack to my
/etc/modprobe.d/alsasound.conf file - but neither of them worked.

Please let me know if you need me to provide more information.

[Bug 505781] Re: No output from Speaker Jack - but sound coming if headphones plugged in.

2010-01-11 Thread Andy Loughran
After applying the suggested update, I still wasn't getting sound. I
tried with the headphones once again and they were still working - I
then tried the headphone in the output jack, and still got sound.

this pointed toward a problem with the speakers.

turns out my little brother managed to break the volume knob - power and
vol were on - but hardware problem.

Apologies for the false bug report.

[Bug 353446] Re: GDM auto login won't work with ecryptfs

2009-10-18 Thread Andy Loughran
If an account is set to auto-login - no matter if it's encrypted or not
- the behaviour should be that it will autologin. The current behaviour
(gdm failure) is not desirable. It would be better to explicitly
disable autologin for encrypted homedirs (as suggested by Dustin) or at
least for a security warning to show, preventing login (like if home
perms aren't set correctly.

I notice this bug is quite old, so apologies if this isn't relevant to
the current karmic development.
