[Bug 1567322] [NEW] Sync dune-common 2.4.1-1 and related packages (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2016-04-07 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Public bug reported:

Please sync
dune-common 2.4.1-1
dune-geometry 2.4.1-1
dune-grid 2.4.1-1
dune-istl 2.4.1-1
dune-localfunctions 2.4.1-1
dune-pdelab 2.4.1-1
dune-typetree 2.4.1-1
(universe) from Debian unstable (main)

This also requires rebuilding dune-grid-glue 2.4.0-1 (universe).

Some of the CMake scripts included broke with newer cmake versions
(which should include the versions in Xenial), making the packages
only usable with the (deprecated) autotools-based build scripts.

Some of the packages (dune-typetree, dune-pdelab) are pre-release
versions or snapshots. I would prefer if Ubuntu shipped a stable
release, especially for a LTS release.

Changelog entries since current xenial version 2.4.0-1:

dune-common (2.4.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
  * Mark libdune-common-dev as Multi-Arch: same.

dune-common (2.4.1~rc2-1) experimental; urgency=medium

[Bug 1337223] [NEW] Sync dune-geometry 2.3.1-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2014-07-03 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Public bug reported:

Please sync dune-geometry 2.3.1-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * Merge from debian remaining change:
* Re-enable ARM builds, but remove -g from testsuite CXXFLAGS to
reduce memory usage and stop OOMing borderline 32-bit buildds.

It builds fine on Debian's ARM buildds... Memory requirements for the
compiler were reduced significantly due to upstream changes in version
2.2.1.

Changelog entries since current utopic version 2.3.0-2ubuntu1:

dune-geometry (2.3.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.

 -- Ansgar Burchardt ans...@debian.org Tue, 17 Jun 2014 19:53:54
+0200

dune-geometry (2.3.1~rc1-1) experimental; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release candidate.
  * Change shared library package name to libdune-geometry-2.3.1.

[Bug 1083267] [NEW] uses Digest::SHA1

2012-11-26 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Public bug reported:

From https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdigest-
sha1-perl/+bug/993648/comments/18:

This bug also breaks external registration in movabletype-opensource -
making it impossible for anyone to log in from OpenID, Google, etc. I
 get the error message:

Required module (Digest::SHA1) for OpenID commenter authentication is
 missing.

movabletype-opensource should use Digest::SHA instead.

This is also [1] in Debian.

The solution in comment #9 will not work for me on my 32-bit system.

movabletype-opensource not working is a bug in that package. I reported

[Bug 1029352] [NEW] cannot create subfolder on IMAP account

2012-07-26 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Public bug reported:

I tried creating a new subfolder debian → nm → asdf (I use → to
indicate subfolders) on my IMAP account by right-clicking on the debian
→ nm folder from the list, choosing New Subfolder... and entering
asdf in the popup dialog. The nm folder is selected in the Create
as a subfolder of field of the form.

However instead of a asdf subfolder in debian → nm, I get a
nm^asdf subfolder in debian.

Note that debian → nm itself doesn't really exist, it only has
subfolders (in the folder list it is displayed in italic grey).

[Bug 993648] Re: libdigest-sha1-perl package is not in Ubuntu 12.04

2012-05-15 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
You can depend on libdigest-sha-perl if you need to support older
releases (newer perl packages also Provide this package). It is also
easy to change programs to use Digest::SHA instead of Digest::SHA1.

So I don't see a good reason to reintroduce the package.

these BOTH from the SAME source package at the SAME time,

Did anyone think of it already and will shoot this idea

I proposed this with openssl in Debian before (#579647), but it looks
like it was merged with my original bug report in gcrypt later and then

Re: [Bug 931181] Re: Multiplayer network games are unreachable

2012-03-07 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
.. as to license: would it make anything better / easier if this license
is included in the source code ?

Yes, that would help in any case as I would not have to search for it
somewhere else (most licenses also require this).

What is the problem with this license ?

It does not allow modification and thus fails to meet section 3 of the
Debian Free Software Guidelines[1].

Another idea: would it make inclusion easier if the implementation is
changed using one with clear licensing?

 For instance this one:

 http://code.google.com/p/smallsha1/

Licensed under The BSD 2-Clause License

 http://www.opensource.org/licenses/bsd-license.php

The license for that implementation does meet all DFSG requirements so
it should be fine (note that it's not the BSD-2-Clause license as it has
three clauses[2], but both are okay).

Thanks for looking into this, I still did not have time for it :-/

[Bug 940566] [NEW] FFe: Sync libquvi 0.4.0-1 (main) from Debian experimental (main)

2012-02-24 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Public bug reported:

Please sync libquvi 0.4.0-1 (main) from Debian experimental (main)

Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception:

The current version of libquvi does not work with YouTube[1], support for other
sites might also be broken.

Note that other packages would also need to be synced:
 - quvi/0.4.1-1 from experimental (new source package, split from libquvi)
 - cclive/0.7.8-0.1 from experimental (new upstream release that works with the
   new version of libquvi).

It also means rebuilding grilo-plugins and totem-pl-parser due to the changing
soname. They built fine in Debian, but Ubuntu has a newer version of
totem-pl-parser which I did not check.

 B8 0C 3C 26 ...
 26 3C 0C B8 ...

Just read the second one backwards.

I still am not sure when I'll have time to look at this in more detail
though :/

I replaced the SHA-1 implementation in Debian as the one currently used
seemed to be non-free (there isn't a license statement anywhere and [1]
looked like it was freeware on 2011-02-15 according to my notes).

Ansgar

[Bug 720994] [NEW] Please sync libmoose-perl 1.23-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2011-02-17 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libmoose-perl

Please sync libmoose-perl 1.23-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main).
It includes a bug fix:

1.23 Sun, Feb 13, 2010

  [RELEASE FIX]

  * The 1.22 release had a bad MANIFEST. This has been fixed.

1.22 Sun, Feb 13, 2010

  [BUG FIXES]

  * When reinitializing meta objects for classes and roles, we failed to
preserve roles and role applications. This led to weird bugs. Many MooseX
modules end up reinitializing your class or role. (Dave Rolsky)

[Bug 716468] Re: error: Unknown error (http/404) on Youtube (patch included)

2011-02-12 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
This was already fixed in Debian[1]. The package from Squeeze additionally has
a fix for vimeo.com.
I would suggest to just backport the clive_2.2.13-5 from Debian Squeeze if
somebody wants to fix this in Ubuntu Maverick.

Re: [Pkg-perl-maintainers] [Bug 714588] [NEW] drop dependency on ttf-dejavu

2011-02-07 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Pander 714...@bugs.launchpad.net writes:
Please drop dependency of this package on package ttf-dejavu. This is
preventing users using custom newer installation of dejavu fonts.

How should this prevent users from installing another version of the
ttf-dejavu package?

I see no apparent reason for having this dependency, If there is, this
should be reported upstream because that would mean the software is
too depending on the installation of a certain font.

The fonts are included in the upstream distribution. For the Debian
package, we use the ttf-dejavu package instead to avoid duplication.

Ansgar

As you said, it is already possible to install the (newer) fonts in
/usr/local.

As I prefer to not remove files from upstream distributions, I'll be
marking this as 'wontfix' here. Feel free to discuss this directly with
the upstream developer. Note that upstream includes the fonts
directly while we add a dependency on the font package and just include
a symlink.

[Bug 663612] Re: package libxml-sax-perl 0.96 dfsg-2 failed to install/upgrade:

2010-10-20 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Is looks like libxml-namespacesupport-perl is not installed even though
it is a dependency for libxml-sax-perl.

Is libxml-namespacesupport-perl installed? If yes, which version?
