[Bug 1899233] Re: post login - no apps launched - virtualbox-dkms 6.1.10-dfsg-1~ubuntu1.20.04.1: virtualbox kernel module failed to build
Just confirming that after running into this issue I purged virtualbox-6.1, added the repository, and installed 6.1.16 and was able to move forward. So #12 and #15 helped me get things working again. I agree with @stamster that it would be good to get 20.04 LTS bumped to virtualbox 6.1.16. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1899233 Title: post login - no apps launched - virtualbox-dkms 6.1.10-dfsg-1~ubuntu1.20.04.1: virtualbox kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1899233/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1864306] Re: package grub-pc 2.04-1ubuntu12.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed grub-pc package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
I have two instances running with the same provider (Linode). One upgraded fine about a month ago. The other has this grub-pc error. The only differences I noted in the /boot/grub folder was that the one that is not working has the default and menu.lst files present. [Bug 1307236] Re: NVidia Issues - blurry text after upgrading from 13.10 to 14.04
@Alberto - I understand that you do not support the NVidia installer. I mentioned it as a workaround as that is what I needed to get my system working again without the blur and I needed to go back to being productive. I was thinking with Bill's information with the blur and mine without that something might emerge as the cause - it seemed to be focus related. Do you have a recommended package think would be best to install nvidia-prime or another? [Bug 1307236] [NEW] NVidia Issues - blurry text after upgrading from 13.10 to 14.04
Public bug reported: I have a System76 Bonoboo with a GeForce GTX 670MX I upgraded from 13.10 to 14.04 and after the upgrade finished I logged in and the text in the windows would get blurry until I refocused on the window and then get blurry again. [Bug 1053443] Re: Unable to print to Konica Minolta C552DS printer - job history
I upgraded to cups 1.6.1-0ubuntu10 and tried both ipp and ipp14 - both still not working. In fact, none of the protocols work smb lpd, etc. I was attempting to print a test page. The network printer tests show that it is able to find the printer. My best guess is that it is related to either Bad driver information file /usr/share/cups/drv/cupsfilters.drv! or the cups-ipp-missing-job- history issue. I've provided updated information via apport-collect -p cups. If you need anything else or have things you would like me to try just let me know. [Bug 1053443] Re: Unable to print to Konica Minolta C552DS printer - job history
The upgrade today (perhaps libgtk3.0 - I forget which one seemed to address an issue with network printing) seems to have resolved this issue. I was able to print this morning and the status in the printers window no longer shows corruption. I am still seeing the no history message in the printer feedback at the bottom of the printers window; however, the warning is not showing up in the error log. Looking at the cups error log I am also no longer seeing the error related to cupsfilters.drv. I do continue to receive: W [21/Sep/2012:08:18:44 -0600] CreateProfile failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:profile id 'c552ds-Gray..' already exists W [21/Sep/2012:08:18:44 -0600] CreateProfile failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:profile id 'c552ds-CMYK..' already exists W [21/Sep/2012:08:18:44 -0600] CreateDevice failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:device id 'cups-c552ds' already exists W [21/Sep/2012:08:18:44 -0600] CreateProfile failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:profile id 'ML-2510-Series-Gray..' already exists W [21/Sep/2012:08:18:44 -0600] CreateDevice failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:device id 'cups-ML-2510-Series' already exists W [21/Sep/2012:08:20:31 -0600] AddProfile failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod:No such interface `org.freedesktop.ColorManager' on object at path /org/freedesktop/ColorManager/devices/cups_c552ds W [21/Sep/2012:08:20:31 -0600] AddProfile failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod:No such interface `org.freedesktop.ColorManager' on object at path /org/freedesktop/ColorManager/devices/cups_c552ds W [21/Sep/2012:08:20:31 -0600] AddProfile failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod:No such interface `org.freedesktop.ColorManager' on object at path /org/freedesktop/ColorManager/devices/cups_ML_2510_Series but I consider that another issue and it is not preventing me from printing so I'm less concerned about the color manager warnings and would consider them a separate issue. Please feel free to close this issue as resolved by another issue or not a cups bug as appropriate. If the problem re-surfaces I can create another issue. [Bug 1053443] [NEW] Unable to print to Konica Minolta C552DS printer - job history
Public bug reported: I like to do some beta testing on my personal computer. I had the KM C552DS network printer installed and working with Cups 1.5.2 in 12.04; however, after upgrading to 12.10 and cups 1.6.1 the printer does not work. In fact when I send the test page (using ipp://192.168.1.50/ipp) it causes the copier to power off and then it comes right back on. I thought it might be related to the job history error but was not able to get ipp14://192.168.1.50/ipp to work either (it said it could not find the printer). In any case, I figured I would report these errors and hope that things get improved in the cups package. Let me know how I can be of help. Peace - Anthony p.s. - I also noticed some corruption in the printer status and I'll add a couple screenshots so that you can see that strange behavior. [Bug 976764] [NEW] glipper - grow plugin removed from 12.04
Public bug reported: I installed Ubuntu 12.04 and added glipper; however, in 11.10 when I was using glipper I found the grow plugin very helpful. I notice that it has been removed from the package for 12.04. When I tried adding the grow files to /usr/share/glibber/plugins glibber stopped working properly so I have purged and reinstalled without grow. Is there a reason why the grow plugin was removed from the package and is there anyway to get back this functionality? [Bug 976764] Re: glipper - grow plugin removed from 12.04
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 957092 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/957092 Well it looks like the plugin is included in the fresh install. When I initially installed 12.04 I did not see the grow plugin as an option; however, after purging and reinstalling today I do see it so I believe this issue can be closed. I do not see the grow plugin in the list of plugins but perhaps it is considered a default plugin now (sorry I am not familiar with the development of this tool). In any case, things seem to be working for me although it is a bit of mystery since the grow files are not in the plugins directory. I also see now that I had filed this earlier and forgotten that I had done so - I will mark this as a duplicate of my original inquiry. [Bug 957092] Re: glipper package (precise) no longer contains plugin grow.py
Just an update that I ran a apt-get purge glipper and manually removed the /usr/share/glipper/plugins directory and then re-installed and this time the grow plugin was enabled by default. My guess is that the plugin is included by default. In any case, this issue can be closed as I do not believe any further work is required. [Bug 957092] [NEW] glipper package (precise) no longer contains plugin grow.py
Public bug reported: I began playing with 12.04 today doing some testing and noticed that glipper in 11.10 contained a plugin called grow.py that is not included in 12.04. I was curious if this was an intentional or accidental omission. I found the grow plugin to be a pretty good feature as it keeps the history shorter and thus makes it more efficient to use. I've also noticed the the new glipper does not seem to be as stable and it looks like those bugs are being worked on. Let me know if I can help with testing. I've simply rebooted and then it eventually works but even then I have to fiddle with disabling the networking and re-enabling before it finally picks back up again. -- suspend makes network-manager say eth1 is a wired device https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/59981 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
