[Bug 688912] Re: EMU 0404 stop working with 2.6.35-24 kernel in 10.10

2010-12-13 Thread Anton Kudris
with latest kernel my sound card works fine:

uname -a
Linux jodaka 2.6.37-020637rc2-generic #201011160905 SMP Tue Nov 16 09:08:47 UTC
2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

no errors in dmesg. I guess I'll stick with 2.6.37 as everything seems
working fine for now

[Bug 688912] [NEW] EMU 0404 stop working with 2.6.35-24 kernel in 10.10

2010-12-11 Thread Anton Kudris
Public bug reported:

After upgrading kernel to 2.6.35-24 (and rebooting) my usb audio EMU 0404 stop
working. I can't see it in device list in pulseaudio applet. When running dmesg
I saw lots of messages:
[ 29.064633] 2:2:3: endpoint lacks sample rate attribute bit, cannot set.
[ 29.066132] 2:2:13: endpoint lacks sample rate attribute bit, cannot set.
[ 29.084118] 2:1:13: endpoint lacks sample rate attribute bit, cannot set.
and so on

I've rebooted back into 2.6.35-23 and my EMU 0404 works fine with it.

[Bug 664021] [NEW] broken dns resolving options in /etc/resolv.conf upon startup

2010-10-20 Thread Anton Kudris
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 (from 10.04) I've got very nasty bug upon every
loading of my desktop: the dns resolver doesn't work. My laptop is connecting
to wireless router and receives settings using DHCP.
After upgrade I first discovered that my browser can't open almost any web site
(in fact I could be able to open some sites... ). Messengers (Empathy and
Skype) also couldn't connect. So I started digging and found that my
/etc/resolv.conf looks like this:

# Generated by Connection Manager
options edns0
nameserver 192.168.1.1

Now name server is ok - that's my router. But I have no idea what is edns0
option... When I removed options edns0 everything get back to normal. I was
able to browse inet/chat etc

but every time I reboot my laptop -- that nasty option return to
resolv.conf and I have to manually delete it

[Bug 496892] [NEW] liblwpx-paranoidagent-perl is broken in Karmic

2009-12-15 Thread Anton Kudris
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: liblwpx-paranoidagent-perl

liblwpx-paranoidagent-perl in Karmic isn't compatible with latest LWP modules
and thus is totally broken.
liblwpx-paranoidagent-perl is trying to call Debug() function which isn't
available by default in newer LWP modules.

fix is very simple:

add require LWP::Debug; after line require LWP::UserAgent; on top of
file /usr/share/perl5/LWPx/ParanoidAgent.pm

not sure how to create patches sorry

updated ubuntu 9.04 to Karmic and now have problems with my second NTFS
partition. I have second NTFS partition used only for file storage. And
just like pavolzetor I'm downloading torrents on this partition. Almost
100% cpu load by mount.ntfs-3g

9.04 was just fine...

will try to compile latest ntfs3g from source files and see if it
helps..

[Bug 95940] Re: No sound on Thinkpad X60 since last update

2008-01-12 Thread Anton Kudris
Hi, I've got similar problem with my laptop. After recent upgrade sound
completely disappeared.
It uses snd_intel_8x0 module and when I start for example gedit I get in
console:
ALSA lib conf.c:3949:(snd_config_expand) Unknown parameters 0
ALSA lib pcm.c:2145:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM surround71:0
ALSA lib control.c:909:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL front:0

can't actually do rmmod on snd_intel_8x0 since it's being used by a
number of other modules (I would better reboot, instead of removing them
all...)
