[Bug 1903569] Re: gthumb crashes with Segmentation fault, after upgrade to Ubuntu 20.10
It seems the problem is not specific to gthumb. The segfault happens in iHD_drv_video.so for many programs: Viber: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1287450/viber-executable-crashes-on-ubuntu-20-10 vokoscreenNG: https://github.com/vkohaupt/vokoscreenNG/issues/117 gcompris-qt: - it is how it fail for me It seems that segfaults happen with free intel-media-va-driver but not with intel-media-va-driver-non-free. At least in my case gcompris started working after the replacement. Please try to replace the free driver like this: apt install intel-media-va-driver-non-free ** Bug watch added: github.com/vkohaupt/vokoscreenNG/issues #117 https://github.com/vkohaupt/vokoscreenNG/issues/117 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903569 Title: gthumb crashes with Segmentation fault, after upgrade to Ubuntu 20.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/1903569/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1127521] Re: shotwell crashes after a while of Updating library...
This bug is about inability of shotwell to have its database on a network drive (NTFS-over-NFS). The low-level problem is with sqlite though: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9907429/locking-sqlite-file-on-nfs-filesystem-possible Close the bug please if no immediate solution is in sight. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1127521 Title: shotwell crashes after a while of Updating library... [Bug 1132299] [NEW] Allow storing thumbnails along with database
Public bug reported: Shotwell stores all thumbnails in ~/.local/.shotwell, and these are not visible by a different user on the same machine. Worse yet - they are not rebuilt if any of the thumbnails is missing. Please allow thumbnails to be stored in the same directory as the database, or allow rebuilding thumbnails on demain. ** Affects: shotwell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132299 Title: Allow storing thumbnails along with database To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1132299/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1127521] Re: shotwell crashes after a while of Updating library...
With db a local ext4 filesystem (shotwell -d /var/tmp/shotwell/) shotwell worked perfectly. Downside of the approach is that the db is not accessible by other computers on the network. I really want the db to sit on the NTFS-over-NFS partition, so other members of the family can manage the photos repository (including db manipulation) with no files permissions headache. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1127521 Title: shotwell crashes after a while of Updating library... [Bug 1127521] Re: shotwell crashes after a while of Updating library...
The DB area have been emptied before, so the DB have been created from scratch. There is no problems with disk space, dmesg shows only the segfault message (BTW, segfault is not the best way to exit, even when an error occured). The filesystem is NTFS-over-NFS, so could be it lacks locking semantics required by sqlite. Why not? If that can save time for someone, I don't mind having couple of warning messages in syslog for each hobbit start. [Bug 1072148] Re: Segfault on SiS 65x/M650/740 card
During my experiments with kernel 3.2.0, the xorg also crashed. I had to disable X11 acceleration for 3.2.0 kernel to work. Same story with kernel 3.5.0. This means that I erred on comment #2 where I claimed that simple reversal to 3.2.0 fixed the problem. Apparently I forgot to mention that somewhere inbetween I disabled X11 acceleration. For what it worth, I tested the 3.7.0-030700rc2-generic kernel and found that it behaves the same way as the 3.2.0 and 3.5.0 kernels - e.g. there is no difference between them (from the bug's perspective). Before upgrade to ubuntu 12.10, both kernel (3.0.0 I guess) and X11+acceleration worked properly. I will update the bug's title to represent the fact. ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) = xserver-xorg-video-sis (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - Segfault on SiS 65x/M650/740 card + Segfault on SiS 65x/M650/740 card when acceleration is on -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1072148 Title: Segfault on SiS 65x/M650/740 card when acceleration is on To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-sis/+bug/1072148/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1073876] [NEW] 1680x1050 resolution has wrong clock value?
Public bug reported: Under ubuntu 12.04, the 1680x1050 mode worked perfectly on my Asus VW222s LCD screen. VGA card: Intel Corporation 82G33/G31 Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 10) After upgrade to 12.10, the resolution appears chopped on the right, I can't see about 300 pixels. While tweaking monitor's OSD settings I found setting Clock that was at 50. When reduced to 0, I gained about 150 more pixels, but the rest of the pixels are still not visible. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1073876 Title: 1680x1050 resolution has wrong clock value?
