[Bug 631426] Re: Upgrade 10.04 - 10.10 failed due to the essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore ((in|gb).archive.ubuntu.com releated?)
I too ran into this issue. I worked around it by reading comments from other users on this page. We use a proxy script at our workplace. I have specified the script URL in the Automatic proxy configuration setting of [System-Preferences-Network Preferences]. I extracted the HTTP proxy details from the script and set it in the HTTP proxy field of Manual proxy configuration setting of [System-Preferences-Network Preferences]. After this change, my upgrade worked fine (actually it is still going on but it has gone past the point where I used to see the problem). [Bug 161745] Re: Why isn't thinkpad-brightness-down.sh used for Lenovo thinkpads?
So what is the option for users without gnome-power-manager or its KDE counterpart? Brightness seems to work fine on my T61 with the regular hardy desktop. On a T60 with slim+openbox, I have to resort to either PJ's tip about /proc/acpi/ibm/cmos or use echo nn /proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD0/brightness. Or I can load the thinkpad_acpi module with brightness_enable=1 and echo values to /proc/acpi/ibm/brightness. I have a custom init script that sets the IBM hotkey mask so that acpi registers the IBM hotkeys when the brightness buttons are pressed. hotkey-setup does not appear to do that for me. This is a problem in general for all the Fn+... keys. The volume keys work fine, however other than the Thinklight nothing seems to work out of the box for me. My setup: hardy command line install with X, openbox and slim. I am not sure if this is a bug or a lack of configuration on my part, but fixes would be great. [Bug 118904] Re: Usplash doesn't show up on text install of fiesty using alternate install cd
Usplash is installed correctly. Synaptic does not show any problems, all the files listed are there. It simply does not show up. I get a blank screen on boot. However it appears that this problem does not happen on gutsy and hardy, so I am not sure if it is even worth it to investigate. Thanks. [Bug 38915] Re: Logout proces hangs
I see something only slightly different running edgy on an radeon x300. the ati drivers dont work for me, so its either vesa or fglrx. Every so often logout dumps me onto a white screen. ctrl-alt-backspace kills my box and I have to do a hard reboot. -- Logout proces hangs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/38915 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
