(Sloeber Arduino IDE, eclipse-based) from running (when starting it with
GTK2 (env SWT_GTK3=0, due to a HiDPI bug with GTK3):

Well if Deja Dup is Ubuntu's general / packaged backup solution and it
can not backup system files, then Ubuntu is by default not able to to
proper system backups, only user data backups. Which is a really big
limitation.
I would strongly recommend to add the ability to backup vital system

Any update? Empathy is still rather unusable, which really shouldn't
happen in Ubuntu's IM of choice. Also, why can we not simply adjust the
settings anymore?

This bug (and it really cannot be called a feature) is still present in
13.4 and makes Empathy rather useless (I see 9 contacts where Pidgin
would show 17 in the same space).
Side note: This becomes even more urgent since the alternative Pidgin
suffers from another Ubuntu change (dropping of the
@Jerry, this is hardly the same bug as in 2009. But I confirm it does
again appear in 13.4, whereas it worked in 12.10 (after white-listing
Pidgin notifications).
And I also confirm that this is really annoying.
