Comment #6 works for me. Using Mint 13 with KDE. Changed all of my
oxygen theme settings to alternative themes & GTK-styles to clearlooks.
I'm not sure which of the theme setting changes was the direct cause.
Even managed to save my profile.

None of these solution work for my Mint 10 64 bit with Compiz and an
ATI Radeon 4250 card. I created a Panel on the right hand side of the
screen. It was fine until I chose Autohide and then it just stopped
presume
I just run this in terminal. Here are my results:
/etc/default/tftpd-hpa
bash: /etc/default/tftpd-hpa: Permission denied
bad...@ ~ $ sudo /etc/default/tftpd-hpa
[sudo] password for badcam:
sudo: /etc/default/tftpd-hpa: command not found
bad...@ ~ $

I believe that I have this very same issue on my Mint 8.0 distro. I have
two 5 port USB 2.0 hubs and only 1 USB port in either device is showing
as a USB 2.0, with all the rest showing 1.1 I've checked the hardware
and every port is supposed to be 2.0
Running a sudo dmesg | grep usb swwms to show
