Ubuntu is running as guest, the host is Windows 7. The attached
information was fetched from the guest os and you can see the screen
resolution changes in the XorgLog.txt. I am not sure if the lockscreen
issue appeared at 404655.* or 407563.*. The following entries were
caused by me trying to reproduce the problem.

Sound is working fine again in Hardy. Works at every boot and is not
"too slow" any more. Thanks!

Here is some additional info:
There seems to be some problem with the "Multi Track Internal Clock" which 
causes the slow playback. Sometimes the clock frequency is not at the required 
frequency after sound card initialization. It can, however, be reset manually 
and sound works afterwards.

I still have to boot at least twice to get sound working. A little dirty
modification of the kernel module helps: Simply call the initialization
function three times and sound is ok at every boot.

[Bug 108590] Sound with snd_ice1724 is not working, too slow or infrequently ok

After a clean installation of feisty my Terratec Aureon 7.1 Universe soundcard 
does not work properly. It either
- plays no sound at all
- plays sound too slow
- is ok

When there is no sound at all and I reboot then sound is ok again. 
If sound is too slow and I logout and login again, the speed is right. I'm 
using artsd, but a "killall artsd" does not work, I have to logout.
When the sound is too slow, I can remove my .asoundrc and restart artsd and 
afterwards the sound is even a little slower.

Sound was fine on edgy, with dapper there was also the problem that
sometimes sound did not work at all and I had to reboot.
