*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 715242 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/715242 I'm one of the original reporters of this problem (not using tvtime). Since then I've switched to Windows 7 on that computer (Thinkpad T61). The shift key still get stuck in random occasions, and behaves as I described above! Ergo, it seems, at least in my case, that it is a real low layer (BIOS?) problem and not an Ubuntu fault. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/588473 Title: shift key get stuck randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-keyboard/+bug/588473/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Have had this on my thinkpad for several releases, now lately on my 64-bit 10.04 (earlier I used 32-bit). [Bug 390508] Re: notify-send ignores the expire timeout parameter
I don't have the background or knowledge to understand the reasoning underlying the design decisions behind notify-osd so I will refrain from demanding design changes, even though it seems a little bit peculiar that having a configurable time-out (with a max-time perhaps) could hurt that much. But, from a use case of view there are two very different scenarios that fits the use of notify-osd and demands different time-outs: 1. "Un-solicited" notifcation (for example, mail arriving) 2. "Pop-up response" use case (for example, outcome of runned script) In the first case, a longer time-out is justified in order for the user to notify it, but in the second case, where the user watches the screen, waiting for the response, the long time-out is annoying. I bet 95% of all complainers use the notify-osd as in the second example. These two use cases would require different time-outs. -- notify-send ignores the expire timeout parameter https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390508 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 275809] Re: X lock-up when logging in from screensaver - crash in intelSwapBuffers()/ intelCopyBuffers()
Steve, Sorry for not reporting before, but I changed back to Hardy and disabled Compiz in the end of January. This for general stability reasons, Hardy performs more solid on my T61, and I can't risk interruptions on my work computer. I think that vouchy's comment above is relevant to this problem as well as a number of others. My feeling is that it is the combination of the hw, the exa acceleration system, the intel driver that is in the core of the problem, just from scanning related posts. Use of Compiz seems to accelerate the problem. But I don't have any more hard facts, and since I changed back as described above I haven't had any more lockups. So its fair for you to handle this bug as you see fit, since I can't contribute more. -- X lock-up when logging in from screensaver - crash in intelSwapBuffers()/ intelCopyBuffers() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275809 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 275809] Re: spontaneous X lock-up: "mieqEnequeue: out-of-order valuator event; dropping."
OK I've been running the above intrepid debs since dec 29, and just now I got a look-up again, this time when logging in remote via vnc from home. The T61 at work is up running and locked by the screen-saver. The screen saver is running without any "effect" i.e. it is black. I first typed my passwd wrong and when I retyped the passwd and hit "enter" (or pressed "OK" don't remember which) X locked up. I logged in via ssh and saw the usual symptom: X process running at 100% (on one of the cores). This time with no output in Xorg.0.log (at least not yet after about 20 minutes), but it is clearly the same problem as before. Nothing in syslog or messages. Compiz is enabled. I vaguely recall that at least a couple of lock-ups have been associated with logging in from the screen-saver. Attaching lspci output again. Was to early again... The problem persists but what happens is that the "Scale" parameter changes itself to 1 (%) even though the Epiphany session starts out with 100 (%). Typically when the browser is started and you do the first printout, "scale" is set to 100%. However, at the next print attempt the "scale" parameter has changed itself to 1%. Yet some more soul-seeking... it seems that the problem for me (and possibly at least krizz) is that my "Scale" option in the "Print..." > "Page Setup" dialog was set to 1.0 % instead of 100%. [Bug 69008] Clock applet updated time wrong when switching from summer time to normal time
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets When I switched on the computer this morning the time was 7 hours off. instead of 09:30 it showed 02:30. Time zone Europe/Stockholm and synchronizing to servers ntp.ubuntu.com 127.127.1.0 Unfortunately i checked the "date" cli command after I had manually adjusted the applet clock from the System > Administration > Time and Date dialog, but it shows the right time. ** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Clock applet updated time wrong when switching from summer time to normal time https://launchpad.net/bugs/69008 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
