[Bug 1931568] Re: no wifi adpter found: Lenovo E41-25
** Summary changed: - I have installed the ubuntu 19.10 and since the installation it says no wifi adpter found but the wifi was working with Windows perfectly but since I switch to ubuntu I am not able to use the wifi. I have tried lots of different methods to fix this issue on the internet and also asked on Ubuntu community for help but none worked for me. It seems there's some bug on the os because during the installation the wifi was working but after the installation has completed the wifi stoped working and says No wifi adapter found. [Bug 1927063] Re: Terminal prompt got strangely replicated when resizing terminal horizontally
Disagree with 18.04 LTS (18.04.5) comment by @nrbrtx, considering gnome- terminal. Open gnome-terminal. Change directory to long name, from first character of username to last character "$" of directory summing 60, or 61+ characters. Give it best effort and utilize "clear" command. Utilize keyboard shortcut to escape from current command, "CTRL + C", twice. Utilize keyboard shortcut to adjust window, "ALT + F8", and reduce horizontal width from the RIGHT edge to 62 characters. Notice one line of history is gone. Continue and reduce horizontal width to 58 characters. Notice an unexpected character at beginning of last line of prompt. Continue to 57 characters. The whole path is no longer visible. Continue to 56 characters. Part of the path appears inside the cursor. Continue to 55 characters. Path is now obscured. Continue to 50 characters. Notice the obscured path is no longer present, but the path is not whole. Continue and reduce horizontal width to minimum (31) from the RIGHT edge with arrow keys. Utilize keyboard shortcut to escape from current command, "CTRL + C", twice. The tool to change horizontal width has been disabled and a ^C is made visible at the last prompt, escaping to a new prompt with full path. Utilize keyboard shortcut to adjust window, "ALT + F8", and increase horizontal width from the RIGHT edge to 60 characters or 61 characters. Notice the username is obscured. If performed with 60 character line, Continue to typical 80 characters. The first letter of the username is now repeated on the last line. If performed with 61 character line, first character of username is sometimes repeated on previous line. If performed with 61+ character line, multiples of path are seen as original bug reports. You can make more lines with path appear if iterating between width of 31 and 32 characters. My example is 62 characters: userna@userna:~/userna/usernamefolder/direct/foobars/foobars$ Results: userna@userna:~/userna/usernamefolder userna@userna:~/userna/usernamefolder/direct/foobars/foobars$ Either with fast keyboard strokes or slow, there are a number of errors in line feed and character removal when adjusting the terminal width. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927063 Title: Terminal prompt got strangely replicated when resizing terminal horizontally To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bash/+bug/1927063/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1902177] Re: Pi 4B rev 1.4 not recognized
It could be evaluating `/proc/device-tree/soc/ranges` incorrectly, but it looks good on line 86 in c_gpio.c from rpi.gpio_0.6.5 from example (https://www.iot-programmer.com/index.php/books/22-raspberry-pi-and-the- iot-in-c/chapters-raspberry-pi-and-the-iot-in-c/59-raspberry-pi-and-the- iot-in-c-memory-mapped-gpio?start=1). I note that your `$ cat /proc/cpuinfo` shows the expected hardware `Hardware : BCM2835` as per line 100 of c_gpio.c of rpi.gpio_0.6.5 (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+sourcefiles/rpi.gpio/0.6.5-1ubuntu0.18.04.1/rpi.gpio_0.6.5.orig.tar.gz)... suggesting ARM1176JZF-S is on board. What I notice of as mentioned line 100 is it expects a tab between "Hardware" and the semicolon. Did you doctor your cat output in any way? Maybe the whitespace separator unexpectedly changed and it could not get the value from "/proc/device-tree/soc/ranges"? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902177 Title: Pi 4B rev 1.4 not recognized To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rpi.gpio/+bug/1902177/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 254035] Re: easy_install will install a package that is already there
Aha, not so fast. We have two separate issues here, and neither one of them is resolved in Ubuntu: 1: python-nevow in Hardy puts the .egg-info file in the wrong place, and additionally setuptools fails to recognize that it is already installed, so 'easy_install' will redownload it. The most recent debian/sid packaging switched python-nevow to use pycentral (instead of pysupport), which puts the .egg-info file in the right place. Setuptools now does the right thing on sid. So one problem is that Hardy does not have this change from sid. This is a backporting issue. 2: python-simplejson has the same problem (setuptools fails to recognize that it is already installed, and redownloads it) on both sid and hardy. In this case, the .egg-info directory *is* on sys.path, so PJE's explanation seems to not be applicable. simplejson is packaged with python-support. For simplejson, I did some experiments, to isolate which difference between the two packages was causing the problem: * replacing the .egg-info/ directory with an .egg-info file didn't help * moving the .egg-info/ directory from /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/ to /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/ *does* help My hypothesis is that the /var/lib directory is added to sys.path fairly late, perhaps by some site.py or *.pth file, and that setuptools is not looking in these directories properly. So I think that there is still a problem with setuptools, possibly related to python-support. -- easy_install will install a package that is already there https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254035 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
