[Bug 1208993] Re: Ubuntu slows down and hangs while copying file from/to USB

2017-02-20 Thread BronsonMathews
Ive got this same issue on 16.04.02. It happens with nautilus and also rsync.
Ubuntu is installed on ssd, and so shouldn't have any noticeable impact on the
file transfer, but for some reason it does...

[Bug 1645988] [NEW] option needed to disable zoom/switching effects

2016-11-29 Thread BronsonMathews
Public bug reported:

Im setting up a system for live projection which had multiple monitors live to
the public.
But the system also needs to be useable. I have a constant issue with alt tab
(application switcher) and also clicking on the unity bar when multiple
instances of an application are open.

The whole desktops on every screen zooms and fades out. I need a way to
disable this zoom/highlight option so I can still use the computer
without interrupting the live screen views.

Possibly a simplified switcher only displayed on the main (the screen
with the unity bar) or active screen.

[Bug 1641779] [NEW] printer cropping the top off on prints

2016-11-14 Thread BronsonMathews
Public bug reported:

using a hp photosmart 5520 over the wireless. Im fairly positive this worked
fine on 15.10.
But on 16.04 when printing the top of the page is always cropped off.

Ive tried all the things on the following page:

however no luck at all with any of these.

[Bug 1635806] Re: dividers in rightclick menu are overpowering

2016-10-23 Thread BronsonMathews
had to use virtual box to get a screengrab.
16.04 is on the left, and has the correct spacing and spacer, looks great...
16.10 is on the right, the text has been squished up to close, and the spacer
is ugly

This same issue is throughout on the native style menu's... Most
noticeably in nautilus...

[Bug 1632027] Re: New Document feature missing from Nautilus 3.20+

2016-10-21 Thread BronsonMathews
Ah one other frustrating feature is the way the new pop-ups in nautilus occur
when a file transfer or action happens and finish.
There needs to be a way to turn these off and disable them completely!

[Bug 1635544] [NEW] require option to disable top menu bar per display

2016-10-21 Thread BronsonMathews
Public bug reported:

Ive been working on a presentation, and noticed there is no possible way
to disable/hide or auto-hide the top unity menu bar (global menu bar) on
a per display basis. It would be very handy to have an option to remove
this bar completely, and also on a per display basis.

also noticed other things seem weird such as
- shortcut keys are always showing in right click menu (no way to disable this

- The dividers seem very visually awkward now in the right click menu, on 16.04
is was very flat, now on 16.10 its very deep and gouging to look at.

2015-08-14 Thread BronsonMathews

But running ubuntu 15.10 the majority of the time, when rebooting, the system
gets stuck on the shutdown screen.
Ive disabled the splash and noticed that it gets stuck on the following line...

[ ok ] stopped network manager

and it doesnt go any further till i hit the reset switch.
Any ideas or suggestions?
