[Bug 2051386] Re: can't mount partition
Don't install fuse as it wipes out desktop. Fuse versions confusing. Not able to install pyfuse, either. Should be simple fix but that fix is hidden somewhere. As this borg mount is a major feature, dependencies should be handled with install. I can click on and open the calendar. Open and toggle Accessibility settings. Open the System Tray (pictured) and: Power Off/Log off, disconnect the network, toggle Dark Style (no effect), adjust Volume, and Power Mode has zero effect. [Bug 1915502] Re: "systemd --user" fails to start for non-local users
We are seeing the same issue with essentially the same setup (NIS for accounts with nsswitch in compat mode, Kerberos for authentication). We see the same pam_systemd debug message when attempting to log in as regular/remote user: pam_systemd(sshd:session): Failed to create session: No such process Naturally loginctl doesn't report the session. No /run/user/$UID directory gets created, and additionally, trying to run "systemctl --user" spits out: Trying to run as user instance, but $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR is not set. After manually setting this variable, we see the familiar "Failed to connect to bus: No such file or directory" Strangely, this problem is not present on some of our slightly older 20.04 VMs in the fleet. The working VMs are using systemd version 245.4-4ubuntu3.2 We noticed this behavior yesterday on 245.4-4ubuntu3.4, and the problem persists having upgraded to 245.4-4ubuntu3.6. This definitely looks like a regression, but I'm not sure which package is at fault or how to debug/pinpoint further. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1915502 Title: "systemd --user" fails to start for non-local users To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1915502/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The Ubuntu version appears to have diverged in multiple ways AFAICT. Just installing It depends on UbuntuDrivers - which has other Ubuntu specific dependencies (x-kit). Building: dh-translations appears to be Ubuntu specific again. The debian package installs fine in Ubuntu. I'd be happy to create a new "neutral" upstream on Github based on the debian version if @juliank would be ok pulling from it for Debian. Eventually Ubuntu could rebase to that to. [Bug 1921939] [NEW] Create Upstream Repo
Public bug reported: I started investigating this due to software-properties in Debian being listed as under-maintained per https://mako.cc/copyrighteous /identifying-underproduced-software AFAICT the source of truth for this package is in the current Ubuntu packages. Would it be possible to make a real upstream repo that both Debian and Ubuntu can eventually pull from? Today, the Debian package has no updates for a while and I get that many of the additions are for Livepatch/other ubuntu specific things. If it's better for software-properties in Debian to just become it's own thing, that's a path too. [Bug 1906600] Re: WiFi disconnects continually (goes "down" in NetworkManager)
If I have done this correctly, and that is truly questionable, I just installed one of the generic kernels from https://kernel.ubuntu.com /~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10-rc6/amd64/ then restarted the PC and was connected for 8 - 10 minutes, but then the connection dropped again. I had installed: linux- modules-5.10.0-051000rc6-generic_5.10.0-051000rc6.202011291930_amd64.deb. Here is what it shows I am running: bryan@bryan-HP-Notebook:~$ uname -r 5.4.0-58-generic I will run the apport again to upload immediately after posting this message. As always, I thank you for your help. Cheers! ** Description changed: Hello everybody and thank you in advance for your help. After a recent update, my machine rebooted and appeared to be fine, but after a short time the WiFi dropped and the NetworkManager applet shows that the interface is down. I am also getting prompted for a password (which was previously saved) and when I click on connect it will establish the connection for a short time, but then goes down again. In some cases this is immediate in others, I will be online for up to approximately 15 minutes before it goes down again. I have tried restarting NetworkManager, but I get the same results (short time up, then down). I tried to review log data, but I am not a linux expert and so I'm not sure that I am looking at the right log, nor do I know exactly what to look for.
