The issue must have been fixed in the upstream community, I could not
find the exact place nor the root cause of introducing it, but I think
it's a matter of updating the RHEL 8 version of wget.

The GNU Emacs manual covers this corner case in at least a little more

As per your post, correlated with the EMACS manual, if you want the
"host" mit.edu to not use the proxy, you would need to add it to
no_proxy (so no_proxy=.mit.edu,mit.edu).

I'd really like to see this bug fixed as our local proxy server actually
denies requests to proxy internally, so without changing proxy vars
(that we've been using for over a decade), wget to our internal websites
just doesn't work.

After starting Thunderbird, using the Ctrl-+/- keyboard short cut does
not have any effect on the font size for the message body unless the
menu item (View -> Zoom -> Zoom in/out) is used first to magnify or
decrease the font size. After that, the keyboard short cuts function as
expected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Thunderbird
2. Try to zoom the message body using Ctrl-+/- (should not work)
3. Use the menu item: View -> Zoom -> Zoom in/out to change the font size for
the message body
4. The keyboard short cuts will now function as they should

Opening the View -> Zoom sub-menu is enough to clear the error.

This seems to be a result of the way lightning is overlaying the menus -
cmd_fullZoom* is now tab-implementation based so maybe it needs to be
updated to the new way of doing things. This is the bit I suspect is
getting in the way:

So the calendar code may still be a problem (depending on how it manages

it isn't updating the view menu when we switch tabs, it only does that
in view_init() which is when the view menu is opened... I think there's
something we do for tabs around somewhere.

Bug 1664607 - Don't try to load what's new page when built with updater
disabled. r=mkmelin

When Thunderbird is built with --disable-updater, as it done by most Linux
distributions, accessing the nsIUpdateManager service will throw an error
resulting in a broken UI. Check AppConstants.MOZ_UPDATER when using
nsIUpdateManger to prevent errors.

Description of problem:

virt-install currently enables hv-time,hv-relaxed,hv-vapic,hv-
spinlocks=0x1fff for guests which support Hyper-V. There are several
additional Hyper-V enlightenments supported by QEMU and libvirt (see
https://github.com/qemu/qemu/blob/master/docs/hyperv.txt and
https://libvirt.org/formatdomain.html#elementsFeatures) which could be
useful to enable. In particular, hv_stimer significantly reduces CPU
usage when supporting VMs are paused (see
https://lore.kernel.org/kvm/20200625201046.GA179502@kevinolos/).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.2.1/master

How reproducible: 100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. virt-install --os-variant win10 --print-xml

Actual results:

Expected results:
Something more like:

Additional info:
I'm not advocating for any specific Hyper-V enlightenments to be enabled, but I
suspect the current defaults are sub-optimal and I would be willing to help
improve them. Is there a process for evaluating which to enable, or is it
simply a matter of adding defaults for features which weren't available
previously?

Thanks,
Kevin

Description of problem:

Whenever I request a shutdown or reboot, I get this:
Waiting for stop job for 1 min and 30 secs.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

pcmanfm-1.3.1-2.D20181227git0619a81f.fc31.2.x86_64

How reproducible:

Always (at least on my system which is running as a qemu/kvm guest).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Reboot and log in to lxde.
2. Request a shutdown.
3. wait for the reboot to complete

Actual results:

Shutdown takes a long time.

Expected results:

Shutdown would be just as fast as in the previous fedora version.

If I interpret this correctly, the remaining process would be pcmanfm.

I would be nice if I could attach strace to that process, but strace
itself would be terminated too early to be useful.

Steps to reproduce:

Downstream (Ubuntu) bug report:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1893021

With the release of firefox 80.0, loading the flash plugin on Ubuntu
16.04 was failing with the following error:

/usr/lib/firefox/plugin-container: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so: undefined symbol: gtk_window_set_titlebar

Actual results:

In previous releases, loading the flash plugin worked fine.

Expected results:

This regression was caused by two recent revisions:
https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D84623 and
https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D82804, which added GTK
function stubs (in widget/gtk/mozgtk/mozgtk.c in the wrong section (they
were added to the COMMON_SYMBOLS section but they should be in the
GTK3_SYMBOLS because they are GTK3 only).

5.9-rc2 test failures with ARM64 in a 4GM VM + 8 CPUs

Test 12, "Generic dynamic event - selective clear (compatibility)"
Test 39, "Kprobe event with comm arguments"

Test 43, "Kprobe dynamic event with arguments"

Test 45, "Kprobe event user-memory access"
Test 48, "Kprobe dynamic event - probing module"
Test 51, "Kretprobe dynamic event with arguments"

These tests were working fine when I tested with 5.4.60, 5.5.19, 5.6.19,
so these are definite regressions

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/78.0

Steps to reproduce:

Using Firefox 78.0.2 on Linux/X11:
1. Visit a URL by entering it into the location bar and pressing return
2. Click into the location bar once or press Ctrl+L; the URL gets highlighted
3. Middle click into any text area (inside firefox or some other
window/application)

Actual results:

URL does not get pasted.

Expected results:

URL should be in PRIMARY as soon as it gets highlighted and be able to
be pasted somewhere else.

This bug has been introduced only shortly before my current 78.0.2 as I
regularly use this procedure to paste URLs into mails and constantly end
up not pasting what I want.

I don't know how others feel, but I miss the triple-click to select which is
the standard in any other application (or even within text areas inside
firefox)! This is a real break in usability standards.
With the current way of automatic full selection of the URL by the first click,
I also cannot select parts of the URL (which I have to do all the time because
of unnecessary sessionid, tracking and whatnot parameters in today's urls)
without clicking a second time, which is also completely uncommon to any
selectable text.

clipboard.autocopy is set (untouched).
The description of http://kb.mozillazine.org/Clipboard.autocopy is also wrong
now with the current behavior.

If this is a feature and not a bug, please make it configurable (and I'd
suggest to make the standard of a whole desktop environment the standard
and not this way that breaks the standard). If you do not agree please
at least make it configurable and leave the "feature" the standard.

For how much it may look confusing (it is definitely a shift in behavior
and habits), this is the expected behavior currently. Clicking on the
urlbar focuses and selects its contents, but because the selection is
programmatic we don't override the primary selection, that is because
maybe you are selecting the urlbar to paste something, and we don't want
to overwrite that.

triple-click should work correctly if you start from an unfocused urlbar
(please let us know otherwise), or it's bug 1633203 (allow to re-select). Would
fixing that bug help?
You can also drag select starting from the unfocused urlbar.

Using 79.0 now things have improved a lot.
Triple clicking works again, partial selection of URLs also works again.

Ctrl-A still does not work, Ctrl-L also does not work.

Still, (and the linked bug also shows other people feel like this) I
think breaking a well established behavior that is common across
thousands of other applications is a regression.

The intended functionality (at least I think that has been the
motivation behind this change) of only having to click once into the
location bar and being able to type a new URL would not be hindered by
adhering to the established standard of copying selected text into
PRIMARY.

You mention you don't want to override possibly existing clipboard contents.
I don't think anyone uses the PRIMARY to paste URLs into address bars (or has
done so before) as it involves/involved selecting (parts of) the URL anyway.
That's what CLIPBOARD is for. (And no, I am not asking for overwriting the
CLIPBOARD contents upon selection!)

Apart from that, I'd rather introduce a new button/shortcut/etc for a
new functionality (clear and focus) instead of breaking standards

Input from a few other users would help, I think.

However, the behavior is not totally random. Chances are much better if I shut

I am using manjaro linux, but also tried ubuntu and fedora, it's the same on
all distros as well as on the 5.6 kernel.
I have been wondering if it is possible to completely restart the touchpad
until it works, but I could not find out which component need to be restarted
for that and how to do it. This would be a great functionality to fix all kinds
of hardware bugs.
Another idea would be to find out what makes the touchpad go into the working
or not working state. I would be pleased for any ideas.

Thanks! I also realized that chances are better for the touchpad to work
if it worked on the last boot. I believe the kernel does strange things
with it when it spams me with "controller timed out" messages on
shutdown. I wrote a script which prevents the system from having these
shutdown issues. It unloads some modules and then reloads them.
Unfortunately it only helps for the next boot, the touchpad is never
even recognized after running it.

sudo modprobe -r i2c_hid
sudo modprobe -r i2c_piix4
sudo modprobe -r hid_multitouch
sudo modprobe i2c_hid
sudo modprobe i2c_piix4
sudo modprobe hid_multitouch

The "controller timed out" messages stops. Although that does not fix the

After further digging, I got another set of log after booting on
mainline (appended below). Basically, I see that the following shows up
first before the "time out spamming" starts:

i2c_designware AMDI0010:00: i2c_dw_handle_tx_abort: lost arbitration
i2c_designware AMDI0010:00: controller timed out
i2c_hid i2c-MSFT0004:00: failed to retrieve report from device.

Now, I found these 3 exact log messages in this commit
