[Bug 727620] Re: [Radeon HD 5650 and 5470] Kernel BUG during recovery boot and in normal boot (Hybrid graphics)

[Bug 269253] Re: ath5k with AR5424 fails at startup or resume
BTW I have noticed that this message, ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout (2412MHz), appears at the kernel 2.6.31-22 in karmic, esp. when transferring large files. It appears most on Ad-Hoc network (I may be wrong), but does not trigger disconnect as it is on later kernels. [Bug 269253] Re: ath5k with AR5424 fails at startup or resume
I spent a lot of time with that problem after upgrade to lucid from karmic. When my Toshiba Satellite is powered on without ac charge this problem appears until reboot with battery disconnect. It renders laptop wlan unusable on battery power. A list of my activities for the past week: Trying to install latest atheros (ath5k) drivers from repos (linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic ) - failure (problem persists) (kernel 2.6.31 - 2.6.32) Trying to build latest stable drivers from source (http://linuxwireless.org/) - failure (Tried all builds avaliable there at the moment in compat section) (problem persists)(kernel 2.6.31 - 2.6.32) Trying to upgrade kernel (2.6.34 and 2.6.35rc) - failure (problem persists) Trying to build driver on upgraded kernel - failure (problem persists) Trying to install a fresh installation of lucid (formating partition with upgraded version and installing lucid from scratch) - failure (problem persists) (kernel 2.6.31 - 2.6.32) Trying to force kernel downgrade to 2.6.31-rt via synaptic (as a last hope) - success! Problem disappeared at generic driver with no need to build anything more. Conclusion - 100% 2.6.32 and higher kernel issue. -- ath5k with AR5424 fails at startup or resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269253 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 591418] Re: gnome-power-manager fails to control LCD brightness, while FN keys work normally (Toshiba satellite A210P)
** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Toshiba satellite A210P with ATI graphic card, running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS kernel 2.6.31-10-rt (kernel 2.6.32 also affected). issue in gnome-power-manager 2.30.0-0ubuntu1 After installing omnibook module (for bluetooth) and proprietary ATI driver gnome-power-manager cannot read and change LCD brightness. The applet slider is stuck at the upper position. Brightness can only be changed by pressing Fn keys. In karmic, everything worked fine. The keys can be disabled by modprobe -r video.
