My ubuntu 10.10 (completely new install) starts X automatically using
fbdev instead of intel driver, so I can not open desktop effects. The
log file says:
intel(0): No kernel modeseting driver detected.
intel(1): No kernel modeseting driver detected.
and

10.04 final release is only 1 day to go. Is it possible that this bug be
fixed in 29th's final release? Well, unluckly there is still no patch
for it, even we don't know which package has caused this problem. The
kernel package, or xserver-xorg-video-intel?

I tried to boot ubuntu 10.04 rc livecd (32 bit) via hd.
I can see the Purple ubuntu loading for less than a second , then it
turns into blank black screen and nothing happens after, cannot use it
or login. It seems that the live ubuntu completely crashed. I try to
