[Bug 619754] Re: alt + backspace; alt+d etc. don't work anymore

Still affected in upstream :(
Too bad it didn't make it into maverick. Any chance of going for upstream soon?

This affects me on a Dell Inspiron 13z. I will try to test/debug if this
exists in current Alpha3, but I am not sure how to test this thoroughly.
Any hints?

[Bug 522727] Re: tabs are not clickable sometimes, and firefox-bin needs to be killed when exiting after this happens

2010-02-26 Thread ChosenOne
For a few days now, I'm having the exact same bug - even with addons disabled.
I am running Firefox in safe-mode right now, with my tabs still not-clickable.
(Firefox 3.6 (not 3.6.2), on amd64, karmic and linux-kernel 2.6.31-19)

Kris' steps to reproduce the bug work - although it occurred to me in other
cases at first.
I supposed that middle-clicking might be of key-importance here, but
right-clicking and hitting Open Link in New Tab does the trick as well.

[Bug 500153] Re: transmission is using the wrong upnp device for portforwarding

2010-01-03 Thread ChosenOne
The point is: My network is using 172.16.3.1 - a debian box - for routing,
internet access etc.
But there was also a normal home router (at 172.16.3.10) provided by my ISP
connected to that debian box to provide wireless access at my home. This home
router was advertising kinda rogueish, so miniupnc asked this one to do the
portforwarding stuff.
What I expected is miniupnc to question whether 172.16.3.10 was truely in
charge for port forwarding and discard its UPnP service, because it is not the
current router.

This is route -n,
Default output is in german, sorry. But it should be kinda obvious, maybe
except for Routentabelle (Routing table) and Ziel (Target).

Kernel-IP-Routentabelle

[Bug 164793] Re: Logitech MX610 mouse special functions doesn't work

2009-12-25 Thread ChosenOne
The mouse is a bit strange - it has two logical interfaces for the USB
receiver/transmitter. They are on the same plug, but they are treated as
separate devices by the Linux USB subsystem. The first USB interface is the
normal mouse device - it has the X/Y motion, the normal buttons and the
scrollwheel. The five buttons down the left edge (Vol +, Vol -, Mute, Email and
IM) are on the second interface, which probably has the additional features
like battery status as well as the indicator LEDs for Email and IM.

[Bug 164793] Re: Logitech MX610 mouse special functions doesn't work

2009-12-25 Thread ChosenOne
Okay, I did what you suggested Teej, but I am using the left-handed
version of MX610 (which should not and does not make a difference):

Here's what xev says:

left-button: ButtonPress event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window 0x621,
state 0x10, button 1, same_screen YES

right-button: ButtonPress event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window 0x621,
state 0x10, button 3, same_screen YES

scroll-wheel-press: ButtonPress event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window
0x621,
state 0x10, button 2, same_screen YES

scroll-up: ButtonPress event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window 0x621,
state 0x10, button 4, same_screen YES

scroll-down: ButtonPress event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window 0x621,
state 0x10, button 5, same_screen YES

The buttons for volume+,volume- and mute-toggle don't appear in xev but
they *work*

forward: ButtonPress event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window 0x621,
state 0x10, button 9, same_screen YES

backward: ButtonPress event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window 0x621,
state 0x10, button 8, same_screen YES

email-button: (like the volume-buttons) doesnt appear in xev, but it
works!

IM-button: does not produce any xev event and is currently the only
button not working

[Bug 500153] [NEW] transmission is using the wrong upnp device for portforwarding

2009-12-24 Thread ChosenOne
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: transmission

Transmission gladly reports that it enabled port forwarding via UPnP on
172.16.3.10, but (as it should know!) 172.16.3.10 is *not* my gateway and not
responsible for any port-forwarding regarding my internet connection.
A simple route -n would suffice, to check against this :)

[Bug 176125] Re: Ubuntu should activate the IPv6 privacy extension by default (echo 2 /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/use_tempaddr)

2009-12-01 Thread ChosenOne
So here's the dilemma:
Either we enable it by default (like Windows 7 does, btw!) and take a few risks
(networks are harder to debug, difficulties with applications, etc.) or we
disable it and lessen privacy for end-users.

I'd prefer the second option, but only if we had a way of disabling it
*easily*, e.g. checkbox like
[x] Enable Privacy Extension for Autoconf IPv6 somewhere in network-manager
(RFC says there MUST be a switch for end users anyway in 3.6).

[Bug 240147] [NEW] conntrack error prevents cutter from working

2008-06-15 Thread ChosenOne
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cutter

It appears, that cutter has some unresolved dependencies, that apt does *not*
know about.
Using cutter after a normal installation leads to the following error message.
Though I don't fully understand its meaning, I'm quite sure it is a
compatibility problem worth fixing.

Console output of cutter:
$ cutter
usage: cutter ip [ port [ ip [ port ] ] ]
$ sudo cutter 172.16.3.104
openning /proc/net/ip_conntrack: No such file or directory

Best regards,
Frederik ChosenOne Braun

P.S.: It is stated in the man page, that cutter has been developed for
and tested on ipcop and red hat linux - the author should be informed if
we manage to get it working on ubuntu.

P.P.S.: Report based on Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy heron) and cutter 1.03

Re: [Bug 229304] Re: upgrade from dapper to hardy fails

2008-05-19 Thread ChosenOne
Hello,
I'll directly start:

~# ls -l /usr/lib/libcups*
ls: cannot access /usr/lib/libcups.so.2: No such file or directory

Note the cannot access. Also. see this result:

:~# ls -al /usr/lib/
ls: cannot access /usr/lib/libcups.so.2: No such file or directory
?? ? ?? ?? libcups.so.2

Maybe there's a file-system error and cupsys might not be a problem
after all? I'm not very skillful in this topic and only making guesses.
However I'll try to help as much as I can (although I won't be available
until Friday).
Note also, that this problem happened on a rented virtual server so I
can't fsck or similar (in case it might become useful for debugging)

Greetings,
Frederik Braun
