[Bug 1015015] Re: Xorg freezes once a day, mouse and SSH still works
The Xorg.log also the same as me (the stack trace bit)? The system has been solid for me in the mean time. [Bug 1017825] Re: USB IO excruciatingly slow on NTFS with dell xps15 laptop
Version of ntfs-3g is 1:2012.1.15AR.1-1ubuntu1 btw. Also, I tried remounting the high speed NTFS as read-only, resulting in a 5-10% improvement. Sadly, I must conclude that NTFS is currently unusable for me. [Bug 1017825] [NEW] USB IO excruciatingly slow on NTFS with dell xps15 laptop
Public bug reported: (might as well be generic kernel / usb / laptop tools related but i am especially suspecting NTFS) Yesterday I was transferring files from an NTFS volume using a high- speed USB3 Samsung disk. The transfer rate according to iostat would not go above 900kB/s (yes, that's not even 1mB/s). The rates for the high speed device should be over 90mB/s! A couple of days ago I was using a plain USB memory stick and the transfers were even worse. It mostly never got over that same rate as the earlier device. [Bug 1015015] [NEW] Xorg freezes once a day, mouse and SSH still works
Public bug reported: About once a day, Xorg freezes on me. Running Xubuntu 12.04 on a dell L502X laptop. The mouse is still moveable and I am able to SSH into the laptop but suspend/resume or using ctrl-alt-F1 and ctrl-alt-F7 does not work anymore. I use the acpi_call module to disable the second GPU (nVidia) as it cuts down the fan noise and saves energy/battery. I had hopes the 3.2.0-25-generic kernel would bring a fix to this (see bug 975689) but it keeps occurring. Incidentally but regularly (about once every 1-2 days). The Xorg.0.log shows: [ 64680.675] [mi] EQ overflowing. Additional events will be discarded until existing events are processed. I am currently testing with the following every time I start X: sudo intel_reg_write 0x2120 0x1206800 (intel_reg_write is located in the intel_gpu_tools package) Workaround is mentioned in https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47535 Curious if it fixes it as this bug is really bugging me :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/975689 Title: X freezes completely running google earth on xserver-xorg-video-intel - IPEHR: 0x7a02 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/975689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 379780] Re: High cpu usage after upgrade to 141-1.1
Apparently, inserting a CDROM into the cd drive fixes this issue for me. The cpu drops to 2-4% when I do this (even an empty DVD-R will do the trick). After ejecting it, the CPU will go back to 20-40%.
