[Bug 390508] Re: notify-send ignores the expire timeout parameter

2011-03-28 Thread ChrisSavery
+1 for fixing this to respect timeouts. After reading through these comments I can't believe Ubuntu devs are being so stubborn. I always believed in Linux and being able to configure things and here I am being blocked. This sucks. Better to take this out of Ubuntu then force us to live with it.

[Bug 588828] Re: please upgrade to gawk-3.1.8

2011-03-27 Thread ChrisSavery
Yes. Please upgrade to 3.1.8 Upstream reports that a bug the prevents printf from handling %.5s from correctly truncating in most locales was fixed in 3.1.8. and this is making it currently unusable for my code. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs,

[Bug 355081] Re: wallpaper-tray always displays pictures from /usr/share/backgrounds

2010-06-22 Thread ChrisSavery
I have this problem as well and I think it's damn silly to allow selecting directories and then force users to have to also use the default one. I don't know why this would be marked as low priority. It would seem to be an easy fix and so many users have complained about it. Is there a feeling

[Bug 501715] Re: Kernel trace buffer should be cleared and size restored after profiling

2010-05-09 Thread ChrisSavery
Thanks lavinog for that info. This immediately cleared up about 250MB of lost memory for me. Usually my server uses about 60MB but now and then after a reboot it will use 315MB and I can't find where it's gone. Dropping caches didn't help. This bug doesn't appear to be taken seriously. Perhaps

[Bug 400710] Re: DND mode is enabled when it shouldn't be.

2010-01-11 Thread ChrisSavery
I get this all the time on all archives I've used for months. It's extremely annoying and for me makes File Roller almost unusable. Does anyone know a replacement for file roller? It completely buggers up trying to do anything. Even exiting the program or clicking any menu item gets sticky and

[Bug 194472] Re: Entering password in Terminal gives no visual feedback

2010-01-04 Thread ChrisSavery
Why don't admins with this problem just add a message to the MOTD. I don't think it's good idea to change sudo at all. Kind of makes Ubuntu users look like morons. -- Entering password in Terminal gives no visual feedback https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194472 You received this bug
