I posted there my own experience of this bug on 2013-01-11 (see above). At this 
time, it was tagged with "high" importance, but unassigned, and is still not 
assigned ...
However this bug has a lot of duplicates, and most of all, has been affecting 
successive Linux Kernel versions for ages now. BTW, I have installed the 3.7.2 
kernel version on an Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal) 64-bit instance, and the bug is 
still there ...
This post is just to trigger a notification to the "Notified of all changes" 
people, hoping this might hopefully revitalize the work to at least try to fix 
this longing issue ...
