Re: [Bug 279262] Re: [regression] devices/interfaces not set to auto in /etc/network/interfaces get blacklisted in 0.7 (intrepid) but were managed in 0.6 (hardy and before)
@Sergiu Did you try removing the existing connection entry and create a brand new one? This worked for me. NM prompted me for the password and the new connection is now persistent (i.e. is not lost on reboot) Claudio Il giorno 06/nov/08, alle ore 11:02, Sergiu Bivol ha scritto: Three machines with Intrepid here. All of them fresh installs, updated. Each of them has 3 network cards with static IPs. None of them is manageable. I randomly get any combination of these results when configuring the interfaces with network manager: - the settings are saved, but no connection. - a connection does not work unless I click on NM, then click on EthName - no password prompt at all, no matter what I change - password prompt appears, but it has no effect (no settings get saved) - checking/unchecking System setting or Start automatically has no effect (they are simply set randomly each time I edit the connection) - a connection finally works (ping IP), but there is no nameserver, even though I have set one - lots of connections can be added - is there a sane reason for this?! - NM ignores the connections with static IPs and tries to connect to an unconfigured interface - there is no NM at all after login There is also a stable result: - ALL the settings are lost on reboot, with no obvious reason A whole IT department in a whole university is going crazy here. Re: [Bug 279059] Re: Evolution crashes connecting to an IMAP server which is temporarily unreachable
Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce this anymore. It happened when the mail server went offline and I got a no route to host message. Trying to reproduce this, putting my network connection down, I get an unknown host message, since Evolution is unable to resolve the dns name. I edited therefore the mail account, entering the IP address of the IMAP server in lieu of the dns name, so that I get again the no route to host message. However this was seen as a new server and Evolution rebuilt completely the mail database (creating a new mail folder: ~/.evolution/mail/imap/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ). The original mail database was converted to sqlite the first time I started Evolution 2.24, while the new one is from scratch in sqlite format. Since the bug no ever occurs, I guess that rebuilding the mail database fixed the problem. [Bug 279192] Re: xorg on Intrepid hangs in infinte loop when compiz is running
I'm not sure if this is somehow related to #270728 -- xorg on Intrepid hangs in infinte loop when compiz is running https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279192 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 203574] Re: Eject should eject the CD-ROM drive tray
I confirm that the problem with the eject button, mentioned by Jeffrey, still holds in Nautilus 1:2.24.0-0ubuntu1 (on Intrepid, of course) -- Eject should eject the CD-ROM drive tray https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/203574 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 24250] Re: Doesn't honor gnome proxy settigs
I agree with Richard: bug #113658 is related to this. Also people here at my university lab (where we use apt-cacher to save bandwith) would benefit a lot! (p.s. Richard: put # before the bug number, in order to have automatic linking ;) ) -- Doesn't honor gnome proxy settigs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/24250 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 51106] Re: Calculations by date are wrong
I have the same problem on gutsy (coreutils 5.97-5.3ubuntu). A workaround is to specify as a first operation 0 min (so without a + or - sign, as Tino suggests) and then the actual operation. e.g. : date -d 2007-03-23 21:01 0 min -10 min At least for me, it works. -- Calculations by date are wrong https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/51106 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 113658] Re: When apt-cacher is used, Update-Manger fails (not #78673 duplicate)
I confirm this bug on all my machines using apt-cacher 1.5.3 on a Debian Etch server and trying to upgrade the client from Feisty to Gutsy. As soon as I remove the line Acquire::http::Proxy from /etc/apt/apt.conf , the upgrade starts. -- When apt-cacher is used, Update-Manger fails (not #78673 duplicate) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 113658] Re: When apt-cacher is used, Update-Manger fails (not #78673 duplicate)

[Bug 113658] Re: When apt-cacher is used, Update-Manger fails (not #78673 duplicate)
Hmm, after further investigation, I do believe it is a proxy-related problem (see Bug #24250), not directly connected to apt-cacher. In fact, if I use a syntax like the following for all the entries in /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://hostname:3142/it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ feisty main where 'hostname' is the name of the apt-cacher server, the upgrade to gutsy starts and the channels are correctly updated to gutsy, like in the following: deb http://hostname:3142/it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ gutsy main This does not fix the issue but, at least, it is a workaround to perform the upgrade using apt-cacher. -- When apt-cacher is used, Update-Manger fails (not #78673 duplicate) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
