[Bug 1578900] [NEW] file chooser broken since last update

2016-05-05 Thread Conrad Firm
Public bug reported:

since last update (maybe a week? two weeks?) whenever I use the
Open/Save option, the file chooser/browser works very, very badly...

none of the "Places" shortcuts, on the LHS, work - neither do the
"Devices" shortcuts

as for my own "Bookmarks" shortcuts, they appear to be suffering from
some kind of "sticky click" where as soon as you click on one, it tries
to move this to somewhere instead of activating it - only if you put it
back where it was (or move it up or down among the other Bookmarks) does
it actually function and allow you to choose a file path

I have attached a screenshot to help demonstrate this (note: choosing
the file to attach to this bug report had the same issue - even clicking
on the path along the top behaves erratically)

[Bug 550100] Re: white noise or no sound after seeking when using PULSEAUDIO:default

2013-10-10 Thread Conrad Firm
hello all

I recently upgraded from 0.25 to 0.27 and was having issues with the
frontend crashing - which appeared to be caused by a problem with the
ALSA:surround51 configuration inherited from previous versions

unfortunately when I tried changing FE to Pulseaudio:default I started
getting this strange white noise issue

I cannot tell you if it affected 0.25 but it definitely affected my
upstream in 0.27

I can confirm the above workaround (fix?) where I changed Override SRC
audio quality Sample rate conversion from Fastest to Disabled
worked for me - thanks walter

[Bug 1238321] [NEW] after upgrade to 0.27 transcoded files no longer have audio

2013-10-10 Thread Conrad Firm
Public bug reported:

recently upgraded from 0.25 to 0.27 on Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS

among a few other issues, I have noticed transcoding doesn't work
properly any more

tried it four or five times now, with different audio options selected
in the frontend and also with different audio options on the Low
Quality transcoder configuration in the backend

no matter what I try, every time I transcode a recording, the resulting
file has no audio (I have confirmed by manually playing the nuv file in
vlc)

here is a log:

[Bug 772873] Re: Vino does not work with compositing

2013-10-01 Thread Conrad Firm
seriously?

we're going to ignore this until we completely phase out the technology
- and then ignore it some more?

way to go Canonical...

for the record, I am using KDE on Ubuntu 12.04 running nvidia304.88
drivers for an nVidia GT520 and this is very much still an issue... how
many years later?

it is probably worth noting I didn't have this issue on my slightly
older version of nvidia304 - didn't start happening until I upgraded the
drivers to .88 (thank you Steam for insisting on that!)

[Bug 355326] Re: [Jaunty Beta] cursor jumps when using touchpad on Eee PC 900A

2011-05-03 Thread Conrad Firm
hello I previously had this bug on Jaunty - ASUS eeePC 701SD.

Cannot remember how I fixed it but I *think* I did it by adding a line
sbout SMHConfig to my xorg.conf (it was a long time ago)

I have just installed Maverick on same 701 - and the bug is still there!

the above options.conf fix seems to be working, so far - will update if
that changes...

[Bug 315119] Re: Doesn't implement the metacity shade button

2010-12-13 Thread Conrad Firm
Just want to say the suggested workaround of double-click the titlebar
is bogus.

Some of us prefer that action should result in MAXIMISE not SHADE.

Seriously is it so hard? Someone has already offered to do the work for
you!

Seriously...

Every time I come here it's won't fix or here's a workaround or not
a bug or some other lame excuse

[Bug 649543] [NEW] work week preferences do nothing - no effect

2010-09-27 Thread Conrad Firm
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

In the Calendar section, I select Work Week view - it gives me a 5-day
Monday-Friday view with 9am-5pm workday - the defaul, basically...

I go into Edit-Preferences (Calendar and Tasks/General) and in the
Work Week section makes changes to these settings (specifically
include the weekend and change workday to 10am-7pm and exclude
Wednesday) - and click Close

nothing changes - the Work Week view remains the same

the Day view also still has the Default 9-5 setting instead of the
10-7 I had changed to...

the Week view has Wednesday greyed, so it looks like maybe that has
actually picked up my changes?

the Month view shows a whole lot of grey - although every Wednesday is
a slightly darker grey so...? dunno...

this is Evolution 2.30.3 installed from the repos as part of a Maverick
install - stock standard, nothing plugged in
