My workaround is:
mkdir -p /var/lib/docker.migrating/
touch /var/lib/docker.migrating/dummy
Then the upgrade succeeds.

In my opinion this bug could be closed. It seems to work with Ubuntu 9.10
versions:
- Inkscape 0.47~pre4-0ubuntu1
- GlobalMenu 0.7.9-0ubuntu1~ppa1~karmic1
(by the way, the ppa-extension is another different of my actual system
setting compared to the system I reported the bug)

Seems to be a config problem. I just reinstalled my system, again ubuntu
9.10 and inkscape 0.47pre4 but now it works with globalmenu. Only known
difference to old system is the ext4 instead of ext3 partition but this
shouldn't matter. Of cause there are a lot of configurations I did not
set yet. I
Tried to install on HDD now. Works without problems since now...
But i need it installed on my USB-Stick

Same problem here with Ubuntu 8.04 on a 8GB Patriot USB Stick. Beta and
a fresh RC installation worked fine. After some updates of the RC
installation i had the same problem. Ubuntu 8.04 Final doesn't work even
if installed completely new. I have also tried to install the nvidia
graphics driver.
