[Bug 1082994] [NEW] No "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" keybindings to show System Monitor
Public bug reported: Hi, I was recently showing a friend my Ubuntu installation. He has been using Windows since around 1996, and so is used to using the Control + Shift + Escape keybinding to show the (system monitor / process list) in Windows. In Ubuntu, there is no such keybinding by default. For us experienced Linux users, it's probably not a big deal, but for someone coming from Windows after using it for a number of years, it could be an issue. This was tested in 12.10 / Quantal Quetzal. I am pretty sure the same applies to 11.10 and 12.04 ** Affects: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1082994 Title: No "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" keybindings to show System Monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/1082994/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 989866] Re: System monitor showing inaccurate CPU%
Hi, Adam. Gnome System Monitor by default does not divide CPU usage by the number of cores available - In your case, it was fully utilizing the equivalent of more than one core. This could have been one full core and some of another, or just part of each core. To change this to show a more 'Windows-like' number, you can go to Edit -> Preferences -> Processes -> Divide CPU usage by CPU count. Thanks for reporting this anyway :) ~Cruz ** Changed in: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/989866 Title: System monitor showing inaccurate CPU% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/989866/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
