tried to run apport-collect ... but it says libreoffice package is not

So I installed libreoffice package (not installed on a fresh install) and

Now, when the extension is installed, a menu entry appears in tools
Minimize presentation but when I click, nothing happens ...

[Bug 634211] [NEW] /dev/dsp* disappeared after upgrade Lucid=Maverick

2010-09-09 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

After a Lucid=Maverick upgrade, I have no /dev/dsp devices.

I use a Pinnacle Dazzle DVC100 to get video and audio from an analog source
(like old VHS player).
I use mplayer to visualize that and mencoder to capture the video and audio.
In my mplayer or mencoder command lines, I used /dev/dsp2 to get the audio
stream.

Since my upgrade, I haven't any /dev/dsp* in my /dev/ directory and so I
don't know how to get this audio stream.

For example, here is the output of my mplayer command :
==
$ mplayer tv:// -tv

[Bug 634501] [NEW] Click on a UI button as repeat or shuffle in fullscreen mode quit fullscreen mode

2010-09-09 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: banshee

Banshee 1.7.5 on maverick
---
I listen some music.
In Now playing mode, I double click on the cover to entire fullscreen mode.

If I click on a button like repeat and choose an option, fullscreen mode
quits itself.

The bug occurs when choosing a shuffle or repeat option (or if the
option menu is open an then click outside to cancel), and also with
volume control button.

Using Compiz or not doesn't change anything

[Bug 634508] [NEW] doesn't follow the current playing track in collection

2010-09-09 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: banshee

Banshee 1.7.5 on maverick

When playing entire collection (or a lot of albums) in shuffle mode for
example, the current playing track is not followed by Banshee.

For example, I play a track of an album named A.., then with

displayed is the same as the first track played (A.)

[Bug 620901] Re: When close button clicked, Rhythmbox exits, but is not minimized to tray

2010-09-07 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Just upgraded to maverick beta and I confirm this.

In previous Ubuntu versions, a click on the close button of rhythmbox minimized
it to tray.
Now, it closes :(

So to keep music playing, we must let it minimized in the panel ...

Maybe a change was made in default configuration in gconf ? but it's,
for me, a regression ...

Keeping the rhythmbox window opened is useless with the new
integration of rhythmbox in the notification area (with volume control
icon ...)

System starts booting and freeze with some black and whites patterns on
the screen, with some colored pixels in black areas...

If I ctrl+F1 to get some infos, I see :
nouveau failed to idle channel 2

The new nouveau driver seems to have problems with my Nvidia GeForce
8600 GT card...

Tried the last maverick ISO and same have the same problem.
Same problem with Ubuntu and Kubuntu.

If I install with alternate CD, install works fine but the same problem
appears after reboot.

So I can't install from the LiveCD (original CD) and If installed, I
can't boot an Ubuntu version greater than 9.10 ...

Problematic for the future !

[Bug 532109] [NEW] amarok search for MySQL to build the collection while the MySQL database use isn't selected

2010-03-04 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange

Restarted amarok from a Terminal with --debug option.
Some lines appear with :

Looked for the Database tab and the MySQL database usage is not checked.

[Bug 385649] Re: the song restart and play when we ask for pause

2009-06-15 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
I re-open this bug. I have now more information on it :

I load my entire music collection (about 4000 mp3 songs) and play then
all randomly.

Sometimes (I don't know why), when a song ends, while amarok should play the
next song randomly in the playlist, it stops.
So, I must hit the next button to have another song playing.

After that, and for all future songs, when pressing pause, the song

[Bug 208079] Re: Windows 'jump' up and down when maximized

2008-09-29 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
I confirm this bug with easytag and compiz activated on Intrepid.
If I disable Compiz (desktop effects), the updown move disapear... Only a
little bottom part of easytag window is hidden.

We can see a bug in compiz (the up and down moves while mouse click) but also a
bug in the software (easytag) because devs should keep in mind that some users
are still with low (1024x768) resolutions...
Easytag devs should reduce something in the design of the software to display
the entire window in a smaller space.

[Bug 242418] [NEW] while importing a photo, F-spot should ask for overwrite or ignore for one or all photos

2008-06-23 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

Actually, I import photos from my iPhone (Apple).
I use a special directory to stock my iPhone photos and I don't want to delete
them from the iPhone. So importing photos with F-spot looks like a
synchronisation...

When I try to import my photos, a few of them are already in the directory, so
I have a message box from F-spot like :
---
Win32 IO returned ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS. Path
/home/cyrille/Photos/iPhone/img_048.jpg
[...]
[ Erreur lors du transfert de fichier ] (french for : File transfer
error)
---

and then, we can choose :
- retry (fail because the photo is still here...)
- ignore (I must do that for ALL the photos :/ )
- cancel (quit F-spot)

F-spot should REALLY allow us to :
- overwrite / overwrite all
- ignore / ignore all

because when you have for example, 250 photos already imported and you
want to reimport them with 20 new photos (all the photos stocked in the
device, without choosing which one you must import or not...), it takes
a long time...

[Bug 187558] [NEW] don't install properly (gutsy)

2008-01-30 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

- After a fresh install from Feisty, upgraded to Gutsy, I install
flashplugin-nonfree from Firefox (visiting a web page using flash and clicking
on the install plugin button.
- I restart Firefox and browse the same page
- Flash doesn't work and Firefox display the install plugin button again. If
I click it, I have the message : flashplugin-nonfree is already installed

Downloading the official flashplayer and copying the libflashplayer.so
file into ~/.mozilla/plugins/ resolves the problem...

PS: The problem is solved in hardy.

[Bug 146189] card view should have a vertical scroll instead of horizontal

2007-09-28 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

While adding a lot of contacts, and viewing them in card mode, there is
a big horizontal scrolling to see all of them. A vertical scroll would
be more user friendly as we could set the width of a card, and so the
number of cards in the horizontal and then scroll down the list ...

[Bug 146195] recursive inclusion of contact lists in other is impossible

2007-09-28 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Reproducing the bug :
- create a contact list List1 with different contacts - it works
- create a contact list List2 contening the first List1 + other contacts -
it works
- create a third contact list List3 who should contain List2 + other
contacts - In the card view, it displays FALSE and if I edit again the
contact list it displays X-EVOLUTION-LIST-SHOW_ADDRESSES instead of the

Re: [Bug 134840] Re: Ubuntu should open yelp at first boot after install

2007-08-26 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
I talk about opening it at the first boot only and the target is a person
who don't know anything about computer and just want to use his new system.
So, how do you explain that every day, people come on IRC or forums asking
how to install a new software after his ubuntu is installed ?
Yes, there is some people who don't have the reflex to search :/
The idea was to show that a good help is already in the system...
And David .. Excuse me for my ignorant request :/

[Bug 134979] gnome-screenshot fail to find the good directory with new translated folders names

2007-08-26 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

In gutsy, installed in French language, the directories under /home/user/ have
been translated :
Desktop become Bureau

It's a good thing but while pressing the print screen key on keyboard
for the first time to take a screenshot, gnome-screenshot search for the
Desktop directory and say he doesn't find the directory... which is
normal because it's named Bureau...

The internationalization of the directories names should be extended to
gnome-screenshot too.

[Bug 133197] Re: mozilla-plugin-gnash is broken

2007-08-25 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
with a Gutsy (tribe4) fresh install :
- I open a web page needing flash plugin (I never installed any flash plugin
since the installation)
- Firefox give me the choice between Adobe flash plugin (non free) and Gnash
- I tick Gnash and Apply

-Then Nothing happend ... Firefox search and search again (or seems to
be working) but never ends ...

Note that the same strange thing happens choosing Adobe flash plugin oO
...

So I can't install any flash plugin from Firefox ...

[Bug 134840] Ubuntu should open yelp at first boot after install

2007-08-25 Thread Cyrille Grosdemange
Public bug reported:

The problem :
I think many people had never read the content of the Help provided by the
system with yelp.
This help contents a lot of useful information for a new user (like how to
install new software etc), and I'm sure the ones who need those informations
don't know it exists and search the web, forums, wikis, or IRC to find what
they want.

The solution :
I suggest that after the installation (at the first boot), Ubuntu open yelp
(the system help), so the new user is not lost with a new system that he
doesn't how to use it ... and can learn the basics of Ubuntu (how the desktop
is organized, how to install a news software, etc).

We can compare this with the guided start tour opened in Windows XP
after the installation ... to introduce the user with the system.

I think this new feature can do a lot in the integration of new users
because they won't be lost with their new system and they wil see that
everything is SIMPLE in Ubuntu :)
