Public bug reported: I think the human icon theme is missing the gtk-stock-no icon (which is a simple red circle in clearlooks and tangerine). This creates another fancy problem. I also have tangerine icon theme installed, and by choosing the human theme, gtk seems to use the tangerine no icon:
