[Bug 1722478] Re: Two-finger scrolling no longer works after resuming from suspend

2019-01-06 Thread Dan Marinescu
Bug affects Ubuntu 18.10 on W540 as well. Confirm
psmouse.synaptics_intertouch=0 (so called) fix. Hello, guys, we're in
the 21st century, perhaps you did not have time to notice?!?

[Bug 1574982] Re: Cannot use CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG: -fstack-protector-strong not supported by compiler

2016-10-16 Thread Dan Marinescu
this is not a gcc bug. this is an ubuntu management specific arrogance
(and perhaps some cash from redmond with love) - of course it is
completely wrong to patch the kernel makefile because they decided to
ship a gcc unable to build the kernel itself (with wrong
defaults/specs). but like they said repeatedly, they are not a
democracy. also just like linus said repeatedly, fuck unubuntu!

>Why isn't this a bug in gcc 6? It doesn't seem right that we have to patch the
>kernel makefile to get it to build.

really, when you cloned and build gdb, you also got his changes...
that's __why__ it's working for you (i believe, have no other
explanation)

[Bug 1166304] Re: FFe for gdb 7.6

2014-01-04 Thread Dan Marinescu
you can replace python with python3 (first line in .gdbinit) and see for
yourself, it does not change anything
the guy broke the build (in terms of functionality) because when he checked in
printers.py he assumed that the rest of the planet (using that functionality)
would co-it with the rest of dependencies he commited all over gdb core, etc.
when in fact, his gdb changes will not even make it in 14.04 (i am running the
build from last night). tipical genious i know what i am doing, commit,
yeehaa. genius he is, engineer, i definitely doubt it. just my 2 billion
cents, dan out

at least he was kind enough to leave a comment behind (in printers.py:53) so
don't have to diff it
so, gdb build time here (just as you did)
:-)
