[Bug 722433] [NEW] cannot boot from ssd with -generic-pae kernel

2011-02-20 Thread Dan Trevino
Public bug reported:

After upgrading my laptop to 8gb of ram and adding a new SSD as a
primary drive, I tried to do a new install. The live CD for both 10.10
(desktop i386, netbook i386), and 11.04 (desktop i386) both boot up and
recognize my new SSD drive for installation. However, after successful
install, on reboot, nothing happens after GRUB tries to boot.

In both cases the -pae kernel is installed.

When I ripped out the 8gb of ram, and went back to 3gb, and re-installed
from scratch, the SSD worked just fine, using the obvious default
desktop kernel.

I tried to compare the configs, but the only differences I could see,
besides the 64GB Himem, would be a couple of SCSI drivers and some Xen
stuff.

2010-02-10 Thread Dan Trevino
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the
current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can
test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could
upload updated logs by running apport-collect bug #, and any other
logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

[Bug 351625] Re: dhclient doesn't accept leases

2010-02-10 Thread Dan Trevino
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the
current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can
test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could
upload updated logs by running apport-collect bug #, and any other
logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

a new bug with package set to network-manager.

Thank you again for taking the time to report this bug and helping to

[Bug 292736] Re: Problems start to Hardy (Intrepid), with driver Dlink DWL-G510

2009-07-13 Thread Dan Trevino
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important
for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn
more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a
bug in ndiswrapper.
For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications
have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the
Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are
having an issue. You can learn more about this feature at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

** Package changed: ubuntu = ndiswrapper (Ubuntu)

[Bug 293008] Re: links are opened with quanta and not in browser

2009-07-13 Thread Dan Trevino
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are

[Bug 397656] Re: This isn't a Gnome terminal problem... I had to report a bug to be able to access the internet, because both my panels are missing.

2009-07-12 Thread Dan Trevino
You can start a panel by typing 'gnome-panel ' from the command line.
You'll see some debugging text, but just hit enter a couple of times and
then type 'exit'. If you close the terminal window by clicking the [x],
your panel will close, so be sure to close it by typing 'exit'.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see

[Bug 280519] Re: interface eth0 disappear

2009-02-22 Thread Dan Trevino
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs .
