I've had this bug since 10.10 and now I'm on 14.04. It's still bugging
me, and actually with the release of 14.04 it has gotten worse. Now,
when I power up my laptop, my Password login prompt gets interrupted by
the SIM PIN popup. Once I log in, another SIM PIN Unlock Required popup
interrupts me.
I'm at Ubuntu 13.10 right now and this bug/feature is still available.
There is a "Save pin" feature that I click each time, which does not
work.

May I suggest that the disk- and partitioning- dialog is supplied with a
feature similar to my "zeroing out" of the drive, if a user selects "Use entire
drive for Ubuntu"?
I've done both automatic and manual partitioning in this dialog, even
chose to "erase partitioning table" in the d

Since 10.10 (the last version I could install) i haven't been able to get
ubuntu working on my laptop whenever I put in an ssd. 11.04 and 11.10 do not
work. I always get the same message: grub-install /dev/hda failed
This time around I tried giving the system a separate /boo
I have a Thinkpad T520 with Nvidia NVS 4200M, using proprietary drivers.
It also freezes whenever brightness is turned up/down. Disabling VT-d
fixes the crashes when trying to turn up/down brightness but disables
brightness (adjusting brightness does not work).

The bug is not invalid. It is a bug.
