[Bug 1877795] [NEW] After failed attempt, can not type password for a few seconds

2020-05-09 Thread dano
Public bug reported:

On the login screen, after entering an incorrect password, the box
shakes and the error "Sorry, that didn't work please try again." is
displayed. In previous Ubuntu versions you could immediately begin
entering your password again. In 20.04 there is a delay of about 2-3
seconds before the password entry filled is auto selected. Eventually
the orange border appears and text input is filled. This process can be
quickened by clicking on the password field with the mouse pointer.

[Bug 1088287] [NEW] New upstream version w/ major updates/fixes

2012-12-09 Thread Book 'em Dano
Public bug reported:

Version 2.2.0 has been released more than a year since the release of
the previous update, 2.1.5. Complete changelog for the release are at
http://www.fceux.com/web/pressrelease-2.2.0.html.

Please package 2.2.0 for Ubuntu.

I would like to assist with this update, I tried following the
instructions for merging upstream sources to the bazaar branch but I
could not get past the point with the various build tools were looking
for fceux_2.2.0-0ubuntu1.orig.tar.gz. I downloaded the original souce
from sourceforge.net, fceux_2.2.0.orig.tar.gz, but I did not know how to
configure the commands to look for it.

Once this has been packaged, would it be possible to backport or SRU to
precise?

[Bug 1069289] Problem: 058f:9360 8GB MicroSD card not recognized in Alcor Micro Corp. 8-in-1 Media Card Reader

2012-11-08 Thread Book 'em Dano
Bug Short Description: 058f:9360 8GB MicroSD card not recognized in
Alcor Micro Corp. 8-in-1 Media Card Reader

When I insert a 8GB MicroSD into my integrated Alcor Micro Corp.
8-in-1 Media Card Reader using Oneiric it is not recognized. However,
the same MicroSD card works in a different laptop's card reader.

As well, in 10.04.4 through 11.10, when I insert a 2GB SD card it is
recognized, automatically mounted, and a window opens to display what
files are on the card.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you
are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are having in the
support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are
uncertain if they are bugs. You can also find help with your problem in
the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/
or asking at http://askubuntu.com or http://ubuntuforums.org. For help
on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 1069289] 058f:9360 8GB MicroSD card not recognized in Alcor Micro Corp. 8-in-1 Media Card Reader

2012-11-04 Thread Book 'em Dano
Bug Short Description: 058f:9360 8GB MicroSD card not recognized in Alcor
Micro Corp. 8-in-1 Media Card Reader

When I insert a 8GB MicroSD into my integrated Alcor Micro Corp. 8-in-1
Media Card Reader using Oneiric it is not recognized. However, the same
MicroSD card works in a different laptop's card reader.

As well, in 10.04.4 through 11.10, when I insert a 2GB SD card it is
recognized, automatically mounted, and a window opens to display what files
are on the card.

[Bug 1069289] 058f:9360 8GB MicroSD card not recognized in Alcor Micro Corp. 8-in-1 Media Card Reader

2012-11-04 Thread Book 'em Dano
Bug Short Description: 058f:9360 8GB MicroSD card not recognized in
Alcor Micro Corp. 8-in-1 Media Card Reader

When I insert a 8GB MicroSD into my integrated Alcor Micro Corp.
8-in-1 Media Card Reader using Oneiric it is not recognized. However,
the same MicroSD card works in a different laptop's card reader.

As well, in 10.04.4 through 11.10, when I insert a 2GB SD card it is
recognized, automatically mounted, and a window opens to display what
files are on the card.

[Bug 1069289] Re: 058f:9360 8GB MicroSD card not recognized in USB Alcor Micro Corp. 8-in-1 Media Card Reader

2012-11-03 Thread Book 'em Dano
I am using integrated SD card readers in both the original pc that I
posted from and the newer laptop. Both readers are obviously separate
and perhaps made from different manufacturers. I tested with the newer
laptop to see if there was a physical issue with the 8GB MicroSD.

[Bug 1026387] Re: All browsers and java never compatible

2012-11-03 Thread Book 'em Dano
What method are you using to install the Java jdk? I don't use the jdk
but I did not have any issues with Java RE 1.6 until a security issue
was discovered with that version, then subsequent upgraded versions of
Firefox automatically disabled jre1.6. But once I've installed jre1.7
from java.com, applets are working within Firefox.

[Bug 1022534] Re: print-to-file defaults are not configurable

2012-11-02 Thread Book 'em Dano
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem (i.e. which program are you trying to print from),
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 1022271] Re: Boot issues when updating from 11.10 to 12.04

2012-11-02 Thread Book 'em Dano
Thanks for your bug report and for your contribution to Ubuntu. In order
to determine if this issue is plymouth related, please boot your
computer with plymouth disabled and then shutdown to see if you can
reproduce the issue. To disable plymouth for a single boot, follow these
steps:

1. Hold Shift during Grub boot delay to access the boot menu.
2. Select your actual Ubuntu boot line and press e to edit it.
3. Select the linux line and at the end of the line, remove splash and
quiet.
5. Press F10 to boot the custom boot line.

Once you have booted up the computer, could you please add the log files
from '/var/log/dist-upgrade/' to this bug report as separate
attachments? Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1024941] Re: huawei e353 not work U12.04

2012-11-02 Thread Book 'em Dano
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We need some more information from you before we can
start working on this bug.

Please run the following command which will attach necessary
information:

  apport-collect 1024941

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib
package from the universe repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-
launchpadlib'. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to Change Non-Private data as it will be adding information to your
bug report.

If you are using an older release or cannot use apport please at least add the
following information (pay attention to lspci's additional options):
First run the following commands:
1) uname -a uname-a.log

[Bug 1069289] Re: 8GB MicroSD card not recognized

2012-11-02 Thread Book 'em Dano
When inserted an 2GB and 8 GB SD card into a newer laptop, both card
were recognized. This leads me to believe that there is a specific
hardware issue on the original pc where I experienced the 8GB SD not
being recognized. I also noticed that if I insert the 8 GB SD card
first and then insert the 2 GB SD, that neither card will be recognized,
because the SD card reader is brought offline after pc attempts to
recognize the 8 GB SD.

[Bug 1021009] Re: can not use my usb slot

2012-11-01 Thread Book 'em Dano
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We need some more information from you before we can
start working on this bug.

Please run the following command which will attach necessary
information:

  apport-collect 1021009

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib
package from the universe repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-
launchpadlib'. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to Change Non-Private data as it will be adding information to your
bug report.

If you are using an older release or cannot use apport please at least add the
following information (pay attention to lspci's additional options):
First run the following commands:
1) uname -a uname-a.log
2) dmesg dmesg.log
3) sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log
4) cat /proc/version_signature version.log
then attach the files separately to the bug report (not pasted into comments or
tar/zip-ed).

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make

not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker.
For help

[Bug 1068956] Re: problems in the system configuration

2012-10-30 Thread Book 'em Dano
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
