[Bug 1888036] Re: WiFi unavailable after computer suspend

2020-07-17 Thread David Arnstein
In this attachment, you can see suspend and resume. Shortly thereafter,
you can see that the system failed to load firmware into the AX1650i
WiFi chip.

[Bug 1888036] [NEW] WiFi unavailable after computer suspend

2020-07-17 Thread David Arnstein
Public bug reported:

I believe that this issue is specific to Intel AX1650i WiFi chip.

After suspend and resume, WiFi is no longer available. The Gnome UI
indicates computer is in airplane mode. Rfkill(1) reports that
networking is blocked in hardware.

I have an output from apport that I made right after suspend and resume.
I will attempt to attach it to this bug report.

I saved /var/log/syslog after suspend and resume. I see that the system
failed to load firmware into the AX1650i chip. I will attempt to attach
this file to this bug report.

[Bug 1847643] Re: iwlwifi during heavy transfers on XPS15 7590 (19.10)

2020-07-16 Thread David Arnstein
I have an HP notebook computer which uses the same AX1650 WiFi chip.
After suspend (sleep) and resume, WiFi ceases to function. Rfkill
indicates that the radio is hardware blocked. Are any of you
experiencing the same?

[Bug 851771] Re: Permission Denied error during backup

2012-05-01 Thread David Arnstein
I launch the Backup panel from the Ubuntu Settings application. Then I
perform a backup. After the backup completes, I get a pop-up window
presenting a list of files that were not backed up. The list is
extensive, and includes important looking files in /boot and so forth.

In a subsequent test, I launch deja-dup from sudo. Then I do a backup,
as above. This time, the backup job completes without any warnings or
errors.

It seems to me that the integration of deja-dup into the Ubuntu Settings
application needs to ask for a privileged password, and then launch
deja-dup with high privilege.
