Hello everybody, I have an ASUS X556U(J). It has an i7-6500U and NVidia GeForce GTX 920M. Had the same problem myself. The installation would freeze on a random window, usually the language selection. Simply, update your BIOS and this should resolve the issue. I successfully installed Ubuntu 18.04.1 with no problems.
