I thought the archive was the right idea

Perhaps it could be sent via launchpad site -- as in bug report

tar-gz--Re: [Bug 1283639] Re: virtualbox-dkms 4.1.12-dfsg-2ubuntu0.2: virtualbox kernel module failed to build

2014-02-24 Thread David George
Solution to sending compressed directory
/var/lib/dkms/virtualbox/4.1.12/build ,
rename it without '.tar.gz' extension

create archive with the following:

david@XPS13:/var/lib/dkms/virtualbox/4.1.12/build$ \
  tar -zcvf ~/Desktop/virtualbox-build-20140224-0225.tar.gz \
  /var/lib/dkms/virtualbox/4.1.12/build \
   ~/Desktop/virtualbox-build-progress-0225.txt
tar: Removing leading `/' from member names
david@XPS13:/var/lib/dkms/virtualbox/4.1.12/build$

Rename 'virtualbox-build-20140224-0225.tar.gz'
  to 'virtualbox-build-20140224-0225-targz'

Send it.

[Added the .txt files for safety convenient reference.]

You rename it.

That wasn't too hard in the daylight

2014-02-23 Thread David George
I hope this will reach bug triage.

My Bug Description included:

  ERROR OCCUR DURING security-only update ~2200hrs 22 Feb 2014

I was mistaken.

As you can see from the attached screen shot of Update Software Source
Window, I had not 'reset' selection of 'important security update
(precise security).

So that it was both' security update (precise security)' and
'Recommended updates (precise updates)'
that were executed by Update Manager.

It was a surprise to me when I went back to look today.
Sorry about the misleading info.
Than you
David George

ref: your email look around in /var/lib/dkms/ for a build log file

Attached is a history of command line search
CL-history-dkms-build--20140223-2400.txt

also attached are two .txt-files, created with $ ls -l file.txt (in
well marked places in CL history).

The most interesting segment follows:

linda@null01:/var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.60.48.36+bdcom/build$ ls -l

total 32
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 311 2014-02-21 00:56 dkms.conf

There are so many paths here, I thought I'd ask for suggestions.

I may chase some down while I wait to hear from you.

[Bug 234472] [NEW] Bookmarks Organize not display unsorted bookmarks

2008-05-23 Thread David George
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I am using Firefox 3.0 Beta 5

Can't seem to find list of unsorted bookmarks when take Bookmarks
Organize path.

Double click on 'Unsorted Bookmarks' folder in right panel; it opens;
and shows blank screen (no links).

I think, I once found a secret path to unsorted bookmarks, but it has
eluded me since then.

Hope there is a quick fix--like what have I missed.

Thank You
David George
