2020-10-03 Thread Aman Deep
Now the problem is resolved after I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04. The issue
was that after installing any software from Ubuntu Software it used to fail
to open. Thanks for your concern.

[Bug 1830744] Re: Stuck in 1024x768 resolution. Modeset can't detect VGA EDID on Ivybridge.

2019-07-28 Thread Deep Jari
Daniel & Launchpad Janitor, Thanks for your response.

I am using HP workstation and checking drivers & changing display
options doesn't solved the issue.

When I installed Manjaro using different hard SSD it gave me proper
resolution.

Then I updated from 18.04 to 19.04, using updater option. It went to
18.10 first and then 19.04 & That solved the issue and now I am getting
full resolution.

Thanks for your support and response. Community rocks.

[Bug 1768169] Re: touchscreen doesn't work properly after stylus detection

2019-07-17 Thread Vigas Deep
I have HP Spectre X360 13" 2019 Model, and have the same problem.

After the touch pen/stylus is detected, finger touch stops working. Is
there any workaround or command to get it working again?

[Bug 1508718] Re: NetworkManager - error initialzing editor

2015-12-12 Thread Deep Sukhwani
I face this exact same issue on Ubuntu 15.10

The exact error I get is:
-
Error initializing editor
settings/nm-settings-connection.c.955 - Connection didn't have requested
setting 'ppp'.
-

This happens when we click on Network icon > Edit Connections > Select
Mobile Broadband Connection (Airtel Default in my case) and then click
Edit.

I have attached screenshot for your reference.

[Bug 1459143] [NEW] Complete system freeze upon switching WiFi networks

2015-05-27 Thread Deep Thought
Public bug reported:

Occasionally when I am manually switching from one WiFi network to
another through the Indicator applet, the entire system freezes
completely—neither the laptop's own keyboard and trackpad nor any USB
devices produce any effect. The only way to resolve the situation is
then to force a power down, which has caused me to lose data on several
occasions.

This started occurring on Xubuntu 15.04; I have not had any similar bugs
on previous iterations of Xubuntu or other Ubuntu variants.

It seems to happen when I am switching from an unsecured to a particular
WPA-secured WiFi network, though as it happens only once in a while
(about once every two days or so under moderate computer use) I am not
sure about the source of the issue. I do know that it seems to happen
only while switching WiFi networks.

This is one of two new network-manager bugs that I noticed around the
same time, immediately after upgrading to 15.04. The other bug was
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1270257.

[Bug 1159836] [NEW] Calibre Disconnects USB Modem

2013-03-25 Thread Deep Bhattacharya
Public bug reported:

I've been having this problem since a couple of days. I use my phone
(Nokia N8) as a usb modem to connect to internet from my pc. However, if
I start calibre while connected, my internet connection terminates and
the phone modem stops responding afterwards. It needs a full pc reboot
(and if I force-stopped calibre while it was communicating to the
device, a full phone reboot) for the net connection to work again.

Calibre version - 0.9.23
OS version - Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS

The main clue I have is in dmesg:

[ 1114.811190] usb 1-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 15
[ 1114.941755] usb 1-5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 1114.942979] cdc_acm 1-5:1.1: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
[ 1114.944308] cdc_acm 1-5:1.3: ttyACM1: USB ACM device
[ 1116.731090] usb 1-5: usbfs: process 4192 (calibre) did not claim interface 0
before use

This line always comes up. I believe calibre must be doing something
wrong while listening for usb devices.

I tried to be clever and thought that adding the phone under the list of
ignored devices would fix it, but no help.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport
report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic
 retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
 in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash
 report you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
 /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in
a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to
 report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 157926] window list is missing minimum / maximum size

2007-10-27 Thread deep-z
Public bug reported:

Recently upgraded to Gutsy with Gnome 2.20.0.

Everything's fine except one thing - minimum and maximum window list
size on panel. It's really annoying to have a panel which is changing
it's size depending on how many windows are open.

What was the reason of removing this option from Window List preferences
in this new version of Gnome? In version 2.18 it was there...

2007-10-27 Thread deep-z
Yes, there is. But unfortunatelly this feature is not compatible with this new
version of Gnome :P.
Quoting from gconf-editor Long description field on these keys: The use of
this key was deprecated in GNOME 2.20. The schema is retained for compatibility
with older versions.

So I'm asking again - why this feature was removed? :| ...

solutions so far...
Also after deleting index file, all messages, wich are flaged as important,
loses their flags and read/unread status. Also these duplicate mails, when this
error happens. Imagine what is going on on a folder with 3k or more mail
messages.

Maybe the problem is in Evolution startup while messages index check (or
index rewriting), when at the same moment new mails are arriving and
therefore not having proper access to message index (mail counts and
status in Inbox by example). I have noticed, that this bug appears
mostly when Evolution is started and there is a new mail on server to
download. I think so, because it never happened to any other folder (at
least for me).

There are new version of Evolution (2.10.2), but it's available only on
Gutsy at the moment (I have Feisty Fawn 7.04). Maybe this bug is fixed
there, don't know.

I agree with you, but 2 years are quite long time for a bugfix.
