Just now, I tried synaptic pkg mgr again,broken filter, which still gave the
'no file name' error on linux headers. But it took the ...headers... .19
package of the broken list this time. I was able to reload mark all/unfiltered
updates and apply successfully.

This morning, software updater popped up and the red disc was not in the
status area. I ran the update which failed again for same reason.
