[Bug 1962225] Re: preinst check that kernel revision < 255 now does more harm than good

2022-03-02 Thread Edison Gustavo Muenz
Are there any suggested workarounds in the meantime? This started
happening after the libc6-dev package (and its dependants: libc-dev-bin,
libc6) were upgraded from 2.31-0ubuntu9.2 to 2.31-0ubuntu9.7.

I'm running on AWS CodeBuild (so amd64 arch).

I tried installing the older version but it's not available. This is the
output of `rmadison libc6-dev`:

The default initial NAT configuration on adapter 1 grants Internet
access.

When switching to NAT network, Internet access is lost.

Internet access is not regained by switching back to NAT.

Yes, it seems that pynotify.init('...') needs to be called before
interaction with the notification system can take place. I discovered
this the other day and I will get this fixed as soon as possible.

I have committed a fix for this that should solve the problem of
StackApplet crashing when a notification comes in. You should see an
update for StackApplet within a day or two containing the fix (if you've
installed it from the PPA).

but not all the time. Problem is only in left side, it may be ear phone

[Bug 824175] Re: stackapplet not installable in ubuntu 11.10

2011-08-14 Thread George Edison
I don't think StackApplet is using gnome-python-desktop at all. Perhaps
the dependency was carried over from back when StackApplet was a Gnome
panel applet. (It now uses the AppIndicator framework and messaging
menu.) I am currently trying to get StackApplet 1.5 ready for Oneiric
soon - the first release candidate is out now.

[Bug 808147] Re: Unknown Error when Accessing Nonexistant User Info

2011-07-09 Thread George Edison
Yes, the error description should be a little clearer. I will take a
look at that and see if I can change it to 'unknown user'... although in
your case the problem is that the site is gone so it should really say
'unknown site'.

[Bug 787946] [NEW] Unity ignores application's attempt to disable menu item.

2011-05-25 Thread George Edison
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

No clue if this is the right place to file this bug, but it does seem to
be limited to Unity.

I have an application that creates a menu. There is a menu item in the
menu that frequently gets enabled / disabled. When the application
enables the menu item, everything works fine. However, disabling the
menu item isn't working. This seems to be limited to Unity since it
works in the Classic session.

Here is a simple Qt source file that demonstrates the problem:
http://pastebin.com/DF9CHps5

To compile this brief demo:

1. Make sure that the Qt development files are installed.
2. Create a new folder and stick the code in 'main.cpp'
3. Create another file in that folder named 'demo.pro' and put this in it:
http://pastebin.com/Z7GRFW8t
4. Open a terminal in that directory and run 'qmake demo.pro ; make'
5. You can then run the demo with './demo'

The expected behavior is that the menu item's state matches that of the
checkbox. However, this does not seem to be the case on Unity - although
the menu item enables itself when the checkbox is checked, it fails to
disable itself when the checkbox is unchecked.

Details:

Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit
Qt 4.7.2

[Bug 698313] [NEW] StackApplet 1.3 is out of date.

2011-01-06 Thread George Edison
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: stackapplet

StackApplet 1.4 has been released now and is the current stable version.
v1.3 used Gnome panel applets to display site information, but 1.4 uses
AppIndicators.

Special note: the package doesn't actually depend on the appindicator
package, but it is recommended. StackApplet ships with a fallback module
(that uses Gtk StatusIcons) it will use if application indicators are
not available. This permits the application to run on other Linux
distributions.

[Bug 577264] [NEW] libvirt failed to start vm: internal error Unable to find cgroup for

2010-05-07 Thread edison
Public bug reported:

I enabled cgroup for libvirt by:
Create a new virt group, by adding
group virt {
cpu {
cpu.shares = 9216;
}
}
into /etc/cgconfig.conf. And add root:/usr/sbin/libvirtd cpu virt/ into
/etc/cgrules.conf
So, when I start libvirt-bin, libvirtd will create its own cgroup directory
under /mnt/cgroup/cpu/virt/

Everything works well, except after reboot the machine.
I found libvirt doesn't create its own cgroup under /mnt/cgroup/cpu, or
/mnt/cgroup/sysdefault, instead of /mnt/cgroup/cpu/virt
After some tests, the root cause is libvirtd is started earlier than cgred.
On lucid, libvirt-bin is started by upstart, while cgred is started by sys-V
init script. How can I specify the dependency between the two? Apparently,
libvirt-bin should be started after cgred.
Right now, I add the following hack in /etc/init/libvirt-bin.conf:
pre-start script
mkdir -p /var/run/libvirt
# Clean up a pidfile that might be left around
rm -f /var/run/libvirtd.pid
while [ 1 ]
do
if [ -f /var/run/cgred.pid ]
then
break
else
sleep 1
fi
done
end script
Then libvirt works with cgroup again.

cgroup devices is disabled on ubuntu 9.10 server. libvirt is not
working, if I cgroup is mounted. libvirt will automatically check cgroup
is enabled or not, then add device list into cgroup.devices. If it can't
found cgroup.devices, then you can't start VM...
