You can test Liferea 1.6 with that kernel to see if it's the changes in the

This is something that has happened in previous alphas and has
subsequently been fixed. I'd be tempted to point the finger at gnome
(and the way it handles icons) rather than the individual apps... But I
 could be wrong.

It'd be nice if somebody who knows how these things work could get
involved and tag this bug under the corresponding gnome project.

In the case of Liferea, I believe it's a bug in the eggtrayicon code. It's fixed
in trunk, since it uses GtkTrayIcon.

So I don't think GNOME is at fault here.

What kind of testing have you done with this package? Is it stable? What
 about its bugs?

It's been tested for a long time in emesene (it's shipped inside the
upstream tarball too), but we don't like code copies so I prepared a
patch for libmimic to build the bindings directly from the library.

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: emesene
+ Please sync libmimic from Debian unstable

- Recently, Emesene has been upgraded for Karmic to 1.5. This included
- support for webcams (despite what the package description says!).
- However, using the official package from the Ubuntu main repositories,
- when I go to click the webcam icon, the following message appears:
+ The package is not in Ubuntu yet, but is needed by emesene (universe) to
+ get webcam support

- You don't have libmimic, so you can't send or receive webcam
-
- Therefore, no webcam. From what I have searched, there is no libmimic
- package for Ubuntu Karmic.
-
- Using Emesene 1.5-1ubuntu1 and Karmic Alpha 4.
+ Description: A video codec for Mimic V2.x content
+ libmimic is an open source video decoding library for decoding Mimic V2.x-
+ encoded content (fourCC: ML20), which is the encoding used by MSN Messenger
+ for webcam conversations.

Is it still as bad with 1.6.0? Performance fixes will come in 1.8, but I'm
interested to know if it's equally bad with 1.6 or anything has changed.
