[Bug 980060] Re: Duplication of ubuntustudio-logo.png and ubuntustudio-logo-menu.png is unnecessary

2017-02-04 Thread Eylul
Writing this from limited connection on travel so apologies if I am
going over covered ground but.. there are multiple copies of identical
logos with different resolutions and file sizes

/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/places/ubuntustudio-logo.png 48x48 1.6KiB

/usr/share/app-install/icons/ubuntustudio-logo.png 48x48 1.7KiB

/usr/share/pixmaps/ubuntustudio-logo.svg 128x128 107.9 KiB

/usr/share/pixmaps/ubuntustudio-logo.png 128x128 3.2 KiB

/usr/share/pixmaps/ubuntustudio-logo-menu.png 128x128 3.2KiB

/usr/share/icons/ubuntustudio/panel/22/ubuntustudio-logo.menu.png 22x22
557b

I assume the requested item is the copies in pixmaps, but I believe any
of the copies that are not size specific can be replaced with a link.

(also menu icons for panel needs to have higher res options to support
HiDPI displays will try to file a ticket on that when I get back)

[Bug 1652525] Re: DNS leak in ubuntu 16.10

2017-01-10 Thread Eylul
Hi Seth,
1) /etc/nsswitch.conf hosts line now reads:
   hosts:  files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns
2) rebooted
3) vpn on boot: no leak. (I think same as before)
4) I turn off vpn
5) use a browser
6) close browser
7) start vpn connection
8) open browser again

Still leaking. :(

Thanks for looking into this.

Could you investigate a bit if this may be related to the new systemd-reosolvd
service?
*is not sure exactly how to go about testing this*

[Bug 1634689] Re: DNS leak after upgrade to 16.10

2016-12-10 Thread Eylul
Also noticed this. when using a couple of example setup files (different
servers) that worked without leak in 16.04, in 16.10 there is dns leak.
I am not sure how to exactly send requests mean for VPN but would be
willing to try if I can figure it out. The rest of the information is
below.

How is the VPN configured on the client?

Export of VPN settings as .ovpn:
client
remote
ca
cert
key
comp-lzo yes
dev tun
proto udp
nobind
auth-nocache
script-security 2
persist-key
persist-tun
user nm-openvpn
group nm-openvpn

vpn conf at /etc/NetworkManager:

[connection]
id=
uuid=
type=vpn
permissions=
secondaries=
timestamp=

[vpn]
connection-type=tls
remote=:
comp-lzo=yes
cert-pass-flags=0
cert=
dev=tun
key=
ca=
service-type=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn

[ipv4]
dns-search=
method=auto

[ipv6]
addr-gen-mode=stable-privacy
dns-search=
ip6-privacy=0
method=auto

Is it set up to "Use this connection only for the resources on its network"? Is
that the case for both IPv4 and IPv6?
No, and no.

What are the contents of /etc/resolv.conf?

/etc/resolve.conf while VPN is running:
# Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8)
# DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN
nameserver 127.0.1.1

Trying to start ladi-player from the ladi-tray or menu in Yakkety,
